-THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF NEW ZEALAND TE PUNA MATAURANGA O AOTEAROA Established in 1965 the National Library of New Zealand is a world-renowned culture and heritage institution entrusted with collecting storing preserving and protecting our nationrsquos documentary heritage and taonga

Driven by its purpose to collect connect and co-create knowledge the National Library delivers a variety of services to the public including school and library services collection storage and conservation physical and digital access and advisory and intermediary services

The National Library is filled with unique attractions and opportunities to discover learn and be inspired

Visitors can experience over 60kms of Aotearoarsquos history their own whakapapa historical documents paintings photography books manuscripts and music collected since 1920

Visitors also have the opportunity to use some of the Libraryrsquos unique spaces for their own events The Library has ofered commercial venue hire for many years but following the reconstruction of its Auditorium in 2018 it now ofers a complete conference venue under the Tiakiwai Conference Centre brand

OUR SPACES AUDITORIUM Rated as ldquoone of the best small auditoria in the Asia-Pacific regionrdquo this state-of-the-art Auditorium features an acoustic-enhancing design the latest AV systems AV control and preparation rooms and 170 seats for your guests

SEMINAR ROOMS Situated beside the Auditorium and Tiakiwai Foyer these rooms can be used separately or combined to form a large space ideal for Auditorium overflow breakouts or self-contained presentations and workshops

TIAKIWAI FOYER This Foyer provides access to our event facilities and can be used for breakouts and Auditorium overflow It features soft seating a reception desk with coat-check and a display supporting digital signage and live-streaming from the Auditorium

The stage can accommodate performing groups and be setup with furniture and equipment to suit a variety of performances and presentations

The Thorndon and Pipitea Seminar Rooms are situated opposite the Auditorium and Tiakiwai Foyer and can function as small self-contained meeting rooms or can be combined to form a large space ideal for presentations and workshops

Each room features integrated AV technology and dedicated equipment including a lectern whiteboard wireless microphone and presentation PC giving you everything you need to bring your event to life

Both rooms have large windows for natural light and can be conveiniently accessed via our Aitken Street entrance

TIAKIWAI FOYER The Tiakiwai Foyer connects guests with our event facilities on our lower ground floor including the Auditorium Seminar Rooms and plate-up kitchen The space can also be used as a complimentary breakout and Auditorium overflow space

The Tiakiwai Foyer can be convieniently accessed via our Aitken Street entrance and allows guests to easily move up to the event spaces and attractions on our ground floor via stairs and a lift

The space features tile flooring assorted soft seating and tables that can be arranged to suit a reception

desk with coat check dedicated toilet facilities and a multi-screen display supporting digital signage and live-streaming from the Auditorium

The Tiakiwai Foyer is ofered as a complimentary space with the Auditorium and a portion also serves as a dedicated breakout area for events held in the Seminar Rooms

Most of our event spaces support these configurations however some are limited to certain types If you want an alternative arrangement that is not listed above get in touch with us and we will tailor a solution that suits your event

Stafing

We provide all staf necessary to make your event a success including event support (including Duty Manager) and security Our team provide support in the form of setuppack-down general assistance and AV support For technically complex events in our Auditorium our technology partner can provide an experienced technician to handle all aspects of your AV requirements

All events we host require support from our team with one staf member required for every 50 attendees in order to uphold health and safety standards however we only charge for staf if your event occurs outside of Library business hours Security staf are only required if your event occurs outside of Library business hours If you require a Duty Manager and one cannot be provided by our team as part of our event support services one can be provided at an additional cost (this is dependent on staf resourcing at the time of your event)

Equipment

We make planning your event easy by providing most of the equipment you need in-house including furniture whiteboards lecterns microphones and AV equipment

Many of our event spaces have dedicated equipment however if you require anything additional let us know and we will endeavour to provide it If we cannot provide what you need we will engage our network of partners to source what you need at an additional cost

Catering

We do not ofer our own catering service however we work with a range of catering partners that can satisfy a myriad of dietary requirements

Stafing

We provide all staf necessary to make your event a success including event support (including Duty Manager) and security Our team provide support in the form of setuppack-down general assistance and AV support For technically complex events in our Auditorium our technology partner can provide an experienced technician to handle all aspects of your AV requirements

All events we host require support from our team with one staf member required for every 50 attendees in order to uphold health and safety standards however we only charge for staf if your event occurs outside of Library business hours Security staf are only required if your event occurs outside of Library business hours If you require a Duty Manager and one cannot be provided by our team as part of our event support services one can be provided at an additional cost (this is dependent on staf resourcing at the time of your event)

Equipment

We make planning your event easy by providing most of the equipment you need in-house including furniture whiteboards lecterns microphones and AV equipment

Many of our event spaces have dedicated equipment however if you require anything additional let us know and we will endeavour to provide it If we cannot provide what you need we will engage our network of partners to source what you need at an additional cost

We provide all staf necessary to make your event a success including event support (including Duty Manager) and security Our team provide support in the form of setuppack-down general assistance and AV support For technically complex events in our Auditorium our technology partner can provide an experienced technician to handle all aspects of your AV requirements

All events we host require support from our team with one staf member required for every 50 attendees in order to uphold health and safety standards however we only charge for staf if your event occurs outside of Library business hours Security staf are only required if your event occurs outside of Library business hours If you require a Duty Manager and one cannot be provided by our team as part of our event support services one can be provided at an additional cost (this is dependent on staf resourcing at the time of your event)

We provide all staf necessary to make your event a success including event support (including Duty Manager) and security Our team provide support in the form of setuppack-down general assistance and AV support For technically complex events in our Auditorium our technology partner can provide an experienced technician to handle all aspects of your AV requirements

All events we host require support from our team with one staf member required for every 50 attendees in order to uphold health and safety standards however we only charge for staf if your event occurs outside of Library business hours Security staf are only required if your event occurs outside of Library business hours If you require a Duty Manager and one cannot be provided by our team as part of our event support services one can be provided at an additional cost (this is dependent on staf resourcing at the time of your event)

Equipment

We make planning your event easy by providing most of the equipment you need in-house including furniture whiteboards lecterns microphones and AV equipment

Many of our event spaces have dedicated equipment however if you require anything additional let us know and we will endeavour to provide it If we cannot provide what you need we will engage our network of partners to source what you need at an additional cost

Catering

We do not ofer our own catering service however we work with a range of catering partners that can satisfy a myriad of dietary requirements

TIAKIWAI FOYER The Tiakiwai Foyer connects guests with our event facilities on our lower ground floor including the Auditorium Seminar Rooms and plate-up kitchen The space can also be used as a complimentary breakout and Auditorium overflow space

The Tiakiwai Foyer can be convieniently accessed via our Aitken Street entrance and allows guests to easily move up to the event spaces and attractions on our ground floor via stairs and a lift

The space features tile flooring assorted soft seating and tables that can be arranged to suit a reception

desk with coat check dedicated toilet facilities and a multi-screen display supporting digital signage and live-streaming from the Auditorium

We provide all staf necessary to make your event a success including event support (including Duty Manager) and security Our team provide support in the form of setuppack-down general assistance and AV support For technically complex events in our Auditorium our technology partner can provide an experienced technician to handle all aspects of your AV requirements

All events we host require support from our team with one staf member required for every 50 attendees in order to uphold health and safety standards however we only charge for staf if your event occurs outside of Library business hours Security staf are only required if your event occurs outside of Library business hours If you require a Duty Manager and one cannot be provided by our team as part of our event support services one can be provided at an additional cost (this is dependent on staf resourcing at the time of your event)

Equipment

We make planning your event easy by providing most of the equipment you need in-house including furniture whiteboards lecterns microphones and AV equipment

Many of our event spaces have dedicated equipment however if you require anything additional let us know and we will endeavour to provide it If we cannot provide what you need we will engage our network of partners to source what you need at an additional cost

Catering

We do not ofer our own catering service however we work with a range of catering partners that can satisfy a myriad of dietary requirements

We ofer a variety of seating options including

Most of our event spaces support these configurations however some are limited to certain types If you want an alternative arrangement that is not listed above get in touch with us and we will tailor a solution that suits your event

Stafing

We provide all staf necessary to make your event a success including event support (including Duty Manager) and security Our team provide support in the form of setuppack-down general assistance and AV support For technically complex events in our Auditorium our technology partner can provide an experienced technician to handle all aspects of your AV requirements

All events we host require support from our team with one staf member required for every 50 attendees in order to uphold health and safety standards however we only charge for staf if your event occurs outside of Library business hours Security staf are only required if your event occurs outside of Library business hours If you require a Duty Manager and one cannot be provided by our team as part of our event support services one can be provided at an additional cost (this is dependent on staf resourcing at the time of your event)

Equipment

We make planning your event easy by providing most of the equipment you need in-house including furniture whiteboards lecterns microphones and AV equipment

Many of our event spaces have dedicated equipment however if you require anything additional let us know and we will endeavour to provide it If we cannot provide what you need we will engage our network of partners to source what you need at an additional cost

Catering

We do not ofer our own catering service however we work with a range of catering partners that can satisfy a myriad of dietary requirements
