Abriefhistory

1910 The worlds first all steel pressed wheels are manufactured by Joseph Sankey at the Hadley Site Telford, UK.

1973 Karl Moller Nagbol of Denmark became a wholly owned subsidiary, now GKN Wheels Nagbol.

1998 GKN Wheels acquired wheel manufacturing plants in Northern Iowa, now GKN Wheels Armstrong.

2000 GKN Wheels acquired FAD SpA in Bresica, Italy, now GKN Wheels Carpenedolo.

2005 GKN Wheels open its technical facility in Woodridge, Illinois, North America.

GKN Wheels history dates back to 1910, when the first steel wheel was manufactured in Joseph Sankeys factory in Telford, England.

The steel wheel was strong, mass produced, economical and represented a leap forward for industry at the time. It may have been a simple spoked design but it bore the hallmarks of a company growing through innovative products and delivering solutions to the marketplace in a cost effective way.

Agriculture Our product range for tractors and combines includes diameters from 15" to 54" and widths from 7" to 30". The comprehensive portfolio of towed agricultural implement wheels includes diameters from 15" to 42" and widths from 7" to 28" in standard W, DW and TW rim profiles. Irrigation wheels are available in diameters from 24" to 38" and widths from 8" to 15".

LightConstruction The product range includes diameters from 24" to 35" and widths from 8.5" to 36".

HeavyConstruction&Mining Standard products are available in diameters up to 63" and widths up to 52".
