Agriculture as Economic Development through Rural-Urban Partnerships
We help start and grow businesses.
Mission Statement
“HVADC’s charge is to enhance the agricultural sector in the Hudson Valley by assisting both new and existing agri-businesses, and supporting policies and regulations that recognize and support New York State’s agricultural economy.”
We are a three (3) person organization that is political boundary neutral and focused on the cluster development of agricultural entities.
We provide four core services(to existing and new businesses)
For startups: Incubator without walls
Incubator clients
We are funded by a wide range of entities
HVADC has attracted over $2.4 million in funding in 4 years.
• Economic development and community development funds as needed
• SBA, USDA, and EDA
• NYS Quality Communities and NYS Ag & Mrkt Planning Programs
• Committed multi-year/multi-county funding: Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and Columbia
• Private donors – Hudson River Bank and Trust, Dyson Foundation
We can create jobs and have better, safer food supply…
Brownfields: low cost infrastructure for aquaculture, biofuels, solar, and value added production
Existing Infrastructure: creates business opportunities in marketing ag-related products, including value added foods, local food distribution, and farm equipment manufacturing, service, and sales
Tech Transfer: ability to leverage existing research capacity for commercialization
…By creating a regional support infrastructure.

Collaborative and Technical Support
“The loan HVADC assisted us with was instrumental in getting both our affinage built for our cheese to age, as well as free up a second walk in cooler for our efforts to promote and sell other cheeses from Farmstead and Artisan Producers in New York. New York now has more farmstead and artisan cheesemakers than any other state in the country.”- Matthew Scott, Pampered Cow
A regional entity has many advantages over independent local entities.
