CB1100 eXThe CB1100 EX is a modern classic. An evolution of the CB1100, it’s a motorcycle as motorcycles used to be, with an air-cooled 1,140cc DOHC inline four-cylinder engine that delivers smooth power and torque.

New for 2014 is the six-speed gearbox, with five wide ratios for strong acceleration and sixth as an overdrive for relaxed cruising and improved fuel consumption. Double-skinned exhaust downpipes keep the chrome shining and shorter twin silencers emit a spine-tingling howl.

With more than a hint of café racer style, the fuel tank now holds 17.5 litres, improving the fuel range. A new fuel consumption and range indicator takes the guesswork out when it comes to refuelling time. There’s also a gear position indicator to make life easier.

Wire spoke wheels finished in Alumite provide that authentic CB750 look, as do the raised headlight and the redesigned sidepanels and grabrail.

CB650f The streets are waiting.

The purposeful all-new CB650F helps you escape everyone else’s world in raw, streetfighter style. The DOHC 649cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine powering the CB650F is engineered to deliver high torque through the low-to-mid rpm range, especially below 4,000rpm. It is also smooth and responsive with 64kW peak power and good fuel efficiency.

Its compact design, combined with the twin-spar frame produce a low centre of gravity and a fast steering, neutral handling chassis. The riding position is naturally upright and slightly forward, placing the rider close to the bike’s centre of gravity. High, wide tubular handlebars give leverage and the combination of the seat height and shape makes for easy ground reach.

The die-cast aluminium swingarm features a curvaceous shape that arcs over the muffler. Preload and adjustable, the rear monoshock is matched perfectly by compliant 41mm telescopic forks. Twin dual-piston calipers grip front 320mm wavy discs, with standard Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) giving safe and strong stopping power in all weathers.

Always ready for action, the CB650F’s appearance is hunched forward and muscular – the aggressive fuel tank, shroud covers and sharp nose fairing add dramatic presence, as does the stubby, shrink-wrapped upswept tail unit. The engine has a functional beauty and is clean of clutter, with the side-swept 4-2-1 exhausts finishing in an elegant and contemporary short silencer design.

Both tail-light and front position lights are LED and the headlight uses the distinctive ‘CB’ V-shape. Twin easy-to-read digital screens are backlit to complete the ‘form meets function’ philosophy.

CB500f A sense of fun.

The CB500F is built around a 471cc DOHC parallel twin engine specifically designed to get the most out of a 35kW motor. There’s a real sense of fun as it pulls through the rev range, offering a whole new dimension for A2 licence* holders and those riders looking for an affordable alternative, but still wanting that big bike experience.

41mm telescopic forks give the CB500F a firm but comfortable ride. Positioning the 9 stage adjustable Pro-Link shock to centralise the mass also dramatically improves handling. Lightweight alloy wheels provide great agility while heat dissipating wavy disc brakes with standard Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) will bring you to a quick, safe stop. Street-style handlebars provide a natural riding position and enhance visibility in urban traffic. Even the digital display is easy to read. A comfortable seat height of 785mm makes it easy for all riders to place their feet on the ground and neat handgrips either side of the seat help ensure passenger comfort too. Aggressive street styling extends to the fuel tank, which holds a massive 15.7 litres providing a range of 260 miles. That’s a lot of riding and a lot to smile about too.

*The Honda CB500F complies with the new EU A2 licence 35kW maximum power output legislation effective from 19th January 2013.

Based on the dual-purpose CRF250L, the CRF250M brings new Supermoto style to the street. Dirt bike DNA means it’s built tough and slim, perfect for cutting through city traffic. Road-specification wheels, brakes and tyres add a whole new performance dimension.

The liquid-cooled, PGM-FI fuel-injected DOHC short-stroke engine pumps out power all the way to the 8,500rpm redline. There’s plenty of low and mid-range torque, plus a fast-changing six-speed gearbox for instant and responsive acceleration.

Marking it out, the CRF250M’s chassis parts are finished in striking stealth black. Heavier weight springs are fitted to the 43mm Showa inverted fork and rear shock. For impressive mid-corner grip 17-inch spoked wheels wear fat road tyres, while a 296mm floating front disc and twin-piston caliper guarantee superb stopping power with fingertip control.

GLOSSARY Honda has developed many innovative technologies for its motorcycling range, designed to have the greatest possible benefit for you and the world around you.

the power of dreamsThe first product to bear the Honda name was an auxiliary engine for bicycles. Adding power to the bicycle made life a bit easier for people and made getting around more fun. Right from the beginning, Honda was about creating things that people truly need – things that had never before existed. This takes independent thinking, audacity and imagination to follow ideas wherever they lead. It also takes determination; the passion, tenacity and innovation to never allow the dream to die and to shape dreams into products for the world.

The stress of the daily commute takes its toll on our health and happiness. But look at those on motorcycles and you’ll notice a difference. See that spring in their step and that twinkle in their eye as they arrive carrying their helmet under their arm as if it’s some sort of trophy. It is. They’ve been out enjoying themselves while everyone else has been cooped up like battery hens. They are the free range humans. A street rider stands out from the crowd. They zig, when everyone else has to zag. They do things differently. They are living, walking proof that nothing makes you happier than being on a bike.
