Hulu: Hulu is a premium streaming TV destination that offers hundreds of thousands of hours of the best of current season programming, premium original content, films and full seasons of hit series to subscribers with limited commercials for $7.99 per month or commercial free for $11.99 per month. Hulu is the only streaming subscription service that offers current season programming from top U.S. broadcast networks the day after new episodes air, as well as acclaimed Hulu Originals including The Mindy Project, The Path, 11.22.63, Difficult People and the Golden Globe® nominated comedy series, Casual. Since its launch in 2008, Hulu has been at the forefront of entertainment and technology and continues to redefine TV by connecting viewers with the stories they love.

How to Get the Data from the Data Source:

Pull out a report from the source platform to get all clients data in one spreadsheet. Alternatively, you can provide a separate file per client.

Data Source Information:

How to Make Adjustments to the Source File Before Upload:

• Hulu sends merged excel reports. So, the first step is to un-merge and unwrap all cells. (Ctr-A + “click Unmerge cells”).

• After un-merge, make sure all empty columns are deleted. • Change the header name from “Flight -> Product -> Ad Unit” to “Ad Unit”. Drag

Ad Unit down accordingly. • Add the header name for “Creative” in the Creative column. • Date column: Please make sure the data has a date value as one of the

columns. In this case, some of the cells copy the correct date down for the blank cells for each campaign.

• Make sure all empty cells are filled in with values from the cell header. For example, the value of Column A, Row 13 should be copied into Column A of Row 14-16.

• Remove all rows that have grand totals or sub-totals or blank rows. In Import Wizard, we use only the raw data.

• Make sure there are no ‘line breaks’ within any of the cells. • Add Client Column — Please make sure to add a column with the client data

that has the data. For example, if one of the tabs has data from client Joe’s Pizza, add a column ‘Client Name’ with values in all rows as ‘Joe’s Pizza’. This will be used for mapping.

• Delete Summary headers — Hulu will include a summary header in their report export.

Import Wizard Options:

• Mapping: Mark the field ‘Client Name’ as ‘Use for Mapping’. • Unique Fields: Mark “Client Name” & “Creative” as ‘Unique Field’. • Date Ranges: Choose the “Contracted Start date” field as ‘Use for Date Range’. • Marking - “Is Metric?” as “True”, “Field Type” as “Number”, “Operation?” as

“Average”: o CPM, Completions Goals, Client Cost, "Completions Delivered", Clicks, CTR,

Impressions, Completions, Completion Rate, Time Spent Viewing (Min) — Mark each of these metrics as ‘Is metrics’ as ‘True’

Process to Upload Data:

1. Get the latest file from the source (this can be done as frequently as you choose to).

2. Make sure the file follows the template mentioned above. 3. Decide how this data will be delivered — Scheduled (FTP, SFTP, Google Drive,

DropBox) or Manual: • Scheduled Option

o You will need to have access to an FTP, SFTP, Google Drive, or Dropbox where the modified file from the previous section will be stored.

o Rename the file to indicate the current date. For example: If today is 10/16/2016, the file name should be ‘source_date_10-16-2016.csv’.

§ Pro-tip: make sure that the date format here matches the date format on your Import Wizard definition. If you set it to YYYY-MM-DD, make sure that the file reads ‘source_date_2016-10-16.csv’.

o Upload the file in the Google Drive, Dropbox, or FTP and set the location correctly in the Import Wizard set-up page.

o So long as the name-date in the naming convention is within the last 3 days if the item was already mapped — the files can be processed.

• Manual Option o Select this option if you only want to send data into the system as

needed. o For this option, you do not need any FTP, SFTP, Google Drive, or Dropbox

location enabled for delivery. Instead, you will go to “Administration”, “Import Wizard” and load data into the appropriate Import Wizard Definition for Processing.

o When setting the Import Wizard, select “Delivery type” = “Manual”:

o When you are ready to load a new file, go to “Administration”, “Import Wizard” and load data into the appropriate Import Wizard Definition for Processing:

Process to Map Data:

• If everything from above is completed correctly, you will see an arrow appear on the right hand side of the window.

• Clicking on that arrow will bring you to the Manage Services screen with a new tile for Hulu.

• From here you follow the same steps you would for mapping a client.

Any Changes Required:

If you need to make any modifications to the Import Wizard Definition for Hulu, you can do this by clicking “Edit” in the Import Wizard area under Administration. Please note that due to data processing, only certain elements can be modified after data has started loading.
