Americas Talent Acquisition Initiatives Goldman Sachs Veterans Recruiting

Veterans Integration Program (VIP)

– Firmwide veterans internship program aimed at recently separated service members—program runs for 8 weeks and provides participants education around financial services, professional skills, GS culture and financial products; as well as the opportunity to complete substantive work and network with senior leaders

– Initiative expanded into separate UK and India program

Veterans On Wall Street (VOWS)

– 2014 VOWS Hiring Symposium hosted in partnership with Citigroup and Deutsche Bank at 200 West ; employment symposium with more than 300 transitioning service members, and 400 senior leaders from over 150 companies, 20 government agencies, and 30 non-profits

Morning Session: opportunity for transitioning veterans to learn about career opportunities in various industries and how to best position themselves for success

Afternoon Session: opportunity for senior business leaders and human resource professionals interested in veterans’ affairs to hear from organizations on how they are overcoming the challenges associated with veteran hiring and maximizing their efforts

Veteran Conferences/Partnerships

– Diversity Recruiting partners with various veteran organizations for conference attendance, informational sessions, marketing, and sourcing opportunities

Conferences: Service Academy Career Conferences (SACC), US Chamber of Commerce Hiring Our Heroes, Military MOJO, Academy Women, Veterans MBA Conference

Partnerships: Wall Street Warfighters, American Corporate Partners (ACP), campus veteran clubs

Goldman Sachs Veterans Career Summit

– One day program for veterans seeking more information about career opportunities in the financial services industry; open to undergraduate sophomores and juniors, 1st year MBA students, and all transitioning military members; ~120 veterans attend this event hosted at 200 West

Veterans Integration Program (VIP)Goldman Sachs Veterans Recruiting

Launched in 2012, the Goldman Sachs Veterans Integration Program (VIP) is an eight-week program that provides transitioning Service men and women exiting the military an opportunity for professional skills training and education in financial services. Similar to a student internship, the VIP offers a guided period of exploration and skills cultivation in a new and dynamic work environment. This program reinforces our vision of the firm as an employer of choice and strengthens our brand as a corporate leader in our focus on veterans. This Firmwide initiative is managed by the Americas Diversity Recruiting Team with close connectivity to the Veterans Network.

The Goldman Sachs Veterans Integration Program (VIP) ensures that veterans, including those with a disability, have the resources and support they need to transition back into the civilian workforce. Each program participant becomes an integral part of the firm, leading critical projects and refreshing professional skills. Veterans receive two rounds of 360º feedback from peers and managers, participate in weekly team meetings, and present deliverables to senior managers. In addition to their day-to-day roles, participants take advantage of trainings and networking opportunities with senior management. The program provides a window into full-time open roles at Goldman Sachs.

Programming for the 2015 VIP included a comprehensive five-day orientation with capital markets training, panel discussions, roundtables with senior leaders and Excel training. In addition, each returnee was paired provided Goldman Sachs Veterans Network mentor and a buddy from the 2014 program help them acclimate to the firm’s culture.

veterans’ affairs. As a bridge to the active duty ranks, the network helps the firm

recruit talented troops who are transitioning to the civilian workforce. Internally,

– including those currently serving in the Guard and Reserve – and advise the firm
