Objective

Paragon’s student led team will design an

integrated solution that will relieve the breathing

discomfort for the user and minimize the water build

up in the suit using Paragon Nafion Bundle

technology.

Using a Nafion Bundle product and Paragon’s

Simulated Breathing Test bed, the students will be

able to design, build and test a complete prototype system.

A problem with portable life support systems for

space applications is over drying of the inhalation

stream due to upstream carbon dioxide removal

processes causing discomfort for the user. Another

problem is the buildup of water in the spacesuit

causing a host of issues. However, water is a

valuable resource that needs to be reclaimed.
