Hunchback of Notre Dame Female/Male Gargoyle Costume

Requirements

Dear Parents,

I am excited to provide you important information about your child’s

costume requirements for Hunchback!

Female gargoyles must have the following items by their first dress

rehearsal:

1. Nude leotard (the leotard can vary a little on the straps, but MUST be

armless, neckless, and legless).

2. Black Jazz Shoes (NOT character shoes; these characters need a flat

bottomed shoe)

Male Gargoyles must have the following items before the first dress

rehearsal:

1. Black compression shorts

2. Black jazz shoes

3. Standard white undershirt (Hanes, etc)

The leotard and jazz shoes can be found on the Barre & Pointe

Order Form. You may also order from Amazon, or the merchant of your

choosing, but pay very close attention to the delivery date. If you have

any of these items from previous shows and they still fit, feel free to re-

use! There will be no exceptions to not having costume pieces by the

first dress rehearsal.

Also, particularly with shoes, it is advisable that you leave plenty of

time—in the event that you must return for a different size — if you

choose not to go with Barre & Pointe where your child will be fitted. If

your son has a very big foot, you need to order soon because it could be

a special-order, which takes more time.

Finally, I am still finalizing the exact costumes for each gargoyle.

While they will all be wearing the same basic gray zentaii (face cut out)

bodysuit, they will be wearing individual costumes over that– different

sized wings, different looks. These pieces will all be provided by the

show.

Hair and make-up is still evolving for these characters, and you will

be notified soon what to expect. These characters may be provided

make-up and expected to arrive at the show ready to go. If so, tutorials

will be provided.
