WHERE IT LIES…?Hunza is the place lies in North

Pakistan about 100 km far from Gilgit.The Hunza exist isolated from the rest of the world in the Mountain ranges of Himalayan-karakurum-hindukush and pamir surrounded by 6500m to 8600m high mountains. It is primary  town or stop for those  entering Pakistan from China.

The Hunzais were originally Soldiers of Alexander “The Great”.Three Soldiers From him came and settled in Hunza valley around 300 B.C.This area may have been designed for the use of far traveling armies of “The Great”.

For hundreds of Years Hunza territory was ruled by a prince.

From 1892 until 1949 the British ruled this territory.In 1949 Pakistan gained control of Hunza when a truce made by the United Nations brought an end to the fighting between Pakistan and India.

Dance: People of Hunza have some unique and

beautiful dances,Following dances are common during the festivals,traditional events and ceremonies.

SWORD DANCE(Talwar Dance)COW BOY DANCE(PAYALOO)

In this style a person wears old style dress,long leather shoes and has a stick in his hand.

DEATH RIDES A SLOW BUS IN HUNZA.Apricots are Hunza Gold.Cultivated plants included

Barley,Millet,buckwheat,potatoes,turnip,mulberries,walnuts,apples,peaches,cherries and pears.all of which the hunzukutz use in abundance.

Ibex,or markhors(Marco polo Sheep) geese,ducks provided the hunza with meat.
