Kym Lardner—Storyteller

Here is a story and picture describing Storyteller Kym Lardner's visit to Hutchins recently.

Kym Lardner is a very funny Storyteller who visited our School. Kym made us laugh with all his stories. His stories were about him when he was a three year old child. The best part about it was with each story he told had a moral. For example he told a story about a bully (Arnold) who buried Kym in the sandpit. Kym is not only a storyteller he is also a joker. He even draws cartoons. Kym is funny x 1,000,000,000. I would recommend him to every school in Australia. If Kym had made me laugh just one more time I would have exploded. Kym is F+U+N+N+Y = FUNNY. I have heard many funny things in my time but Kym Lardner's stories are the best. Kym made us laugh and even people who most of the time don't crack a smile did today. Kym is very very funny.

Year One

1E have continued our exciting work on dinosaurs. Here is an excellent acrostic poem written by Daniel Souza. Can you see what the title of the poem is?

Year Two Daniel Souza (1E)

In Year 2HS we've learnt the importance of the three R's. Reduce, Re-use and Recycle. Our compost bottles are composting beautifully and the decomposition table in the classroom is looking and smelling worse everyday. We went on an excursion to the Collex Recycling Depot where we observed what happens to our kerb side recycling materials. We are also hoping some of the big family restaurants and companies will answer our letters this week, we've certainly asked them some interesting questions about recycling!! Our maths books are filled with complicated sums, patterns and a colourful pie graph. We've written stories in our language books, designed a comic strip and made our story characters with plasticine. Our favourite games include "Broken Windows" and "Robin Hood."

Declan Martin (2H) splits his sides listening to visiting Storyteller Kym Lardner recently.

Our Assembly

On Friday we took Assembly. We did some plays. I was in Pandora's Box. It was a really good play. We also showed our paper monster. Ours was a Cyclops. My favourite thing was the rap. I think every one tried really hard. It was great fun.

Year Five

Year Six

Over the past few weeks 6 Marriott have been studying shipwrecks. We all had to make an acrostic poem on shipwrecks and this is an example of one.

Sinking ships wrecked by waves. Hell bent on hitting the rocks, reefs and caves. Incompetent sailors screaming and shouting. Pirates with weapons crying with laughter. Wild stormy seas and natural disasters Rocking the ship while pushing away. Equipment is faulty what shall I do? Colliding with rocks and Ice Bergs too King of the seas, neglecting the mistakes. Scurvy, cyclones, war and attack waiting, hoping, not Looking back!

Our World Our World

Our world is creative in many ways Scent of fresh air Home for multitudes of animals Different shapes and colours Can be barren Mostly beautiful in lots of ways Mountains so spectacular Hard to breathe So white and magical Water clear, blue and wet. A great place to live.

The sound of water Spraying right in my face Smashing against the rocks Shells, rocks swept from the sand

to the sea Rockpools filled with streaming

water Boats crashing against the waves Creatures of the calm Calm and quiet.
