2. McKenneys renovated HVAC systems in a 30-story Charlotte officetower for a law school tenant. 3. The ChallengeThe 10 floors of the heavily populated law school required moreoutside air than typical office space. The challenge, how to deliver theair thru an occupied high rise building while maintaining the budgetand meeting the aggressive five-month project schedule. The SolutionMcKenneys worked with the design team and decided that installing a92-ton outside air unit on top of the building would be more costeffective than installing individual custom units above the ceilings oneach floor. This approach saved the project approximately $200,000.Diligent field coordination between McKenneys, the generalcontractor, police, local transit service, parking lot owners andinsurance companies was necessary to ensure a safe and efficienthelicopter lift process. An existing open shaft was used to install a ductriser from the roof down to the schools ten floors. The content of this document is not intended as an endorsement. 4. The ResultsMcKenneys delivered the project on time and within budget withoutany disruption to other tenants. 5. 1056 Moreland Industrial BoulevardAtlanta, Georgia 30316P: 404-622-50003601 Performance RoadCharlotte, North Carolina 28214P: 704-357-1200Atlanta Office:Charlotte Office:sales@mckenneys.comwww.mckenneys.com
