QUANTITY: When we say Phat Filter carbon beds are 2" thick, they are in fact, 2" thick. The same is true when it comes to Phat Filter bed length size; the size we claim is in fact the actual size of the lter, not a rounded up measurement including the ange to make it seem bigger. So it stands to reason that we can obviously pack more carbon into our lters than some others can claim.

QUALITY: Phat Filters carbon quality is also backed up by math and science. ADsorption Yield (adsorption with a d) is the key. It tells you how good the carbon is. So how do you nd the Adsorption Yield? Its an easy equation: Dry Apparent Density x Butane Number = Adsorption yield

A high adsorption yield number equals a greater capacity to adsorb odors, which in turn means the lter is of higher quality and will sustain a longer life-span. This is critical when choosing a quality carbon lter like a Phat Filter.

QuAlity & sAfty

The main part of the mark identifies the laboratory that tested and certified the product. This mark shows that UL was the certifying NRTL.

If the mark includes a small C and/or US, it follows product safety standards of Canada and the United States, respectively.

A mark without the C or US indicates the product meets U.S. safety standards.

ul, CsA, Etl which is best?The short answer is, all of the above! Products that display these marks have undergone independent third-party testing and certification by a laboratory accredited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). These laboratories are called Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories, or NRTLs.

Underwriters Laboratory (UL), the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and Intertek (ETL) are all OSHA-recognized NRTLs, and all use the same stringent set of standards and conditions to test and certify products.

Heres how it works.1. OSHA accredits a laboratory as a Nationally

Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL).

2. The manufacturer chooses an NRTL to test the product.

3. The NRTL tests the product against the same set of standards used by all NRTLs.

4. If the product meets all applicable standards, it may display the NRTLs mark under license from the laboratory that tested the product.

The RoHS Directive restricts the use of Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent chromium (Hex-Cr), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.

The Phantom II Digital Ballast takes the reliability and engineering superiority of the original Phantom ballast and adds industry leading Smart Alert Technologysetting a new standard for excellence and functionality.The Smart Alert Technology utilizes a 32 MHz fully integrated microprocessor to diagnose and keep your setup running smoothly. The Phantom II also features built-in hot restrike programming to protect the lamp and ballast in the event of a power outage, meaning ballast will not attempt to restart a hot lamp for at least 15 minutes. PHANTOM II DIGITAL BALLAST

Intelligent Lamp Ignition and Power Control The Phantom II extends lamp life by utilizing a controlled ramp-up or ramp-down of power upon start, shut off, or dimming. Additionally, the Phantom II will recognize that a warm lamp can be brought to full power more rapidly, and adjusts accordingly.

High-Precision Microprocessor Control The 32 bit processor is four times faster than the processing speed of a generic e-ballast.

End of Life Lamp Protection and Indication As the lamp approaches the end of its effective life, the ignition voltage goes up and light output becomes less efficient. The Phantom II alerts the user via the LED indicators that the lamp is ready to be replaced, so the system can maintain optimum efficiency.

More Efficient Patented power control programming enables transmission of power with higher efficiency. The .96 true power factor of the Phantom II is higher than the first generation, leading to 10% less energy lost to heat. Less heat improves performance and lifetime.
