Dear Valued HMG Partners,The first Quarter of 2019 was strong even with unprecedented flooding in several southeastern states. Sales were up 15% and could have easily been north of 20% if not for the exten-sive flooding. With significant U.S. economic concerns for the last two months of 2018, and much uncertainty in early 2019, we are pleased with the results of Q1 and see them only get-ting stronger throughout the year.

The launch of HarborHoist 2.0 at the 2019 Miami Boat Show was well-received with lots of exposure through print, online articles, video, and social media. In Q1, we expe-rienced tremendous traction with HarborHoist consumers and gov-ernment buyers. We also saw strong sales to east coast of Australia, which is an ideal market for the HarborHoist

in terms of types of boats, mooring applications, and counter-seasonality to U.S. markets. The U.S. Navy ordered 10 large HarborHoist lifts for facilities on the east coast. Our team, along with the Carman brothers of New York, expertly installed these units over a 3-week period, and I thank them for their efforts as we are especially proud of this project. (See additional feature on page 5.)

HyPower Power Pedestals con-tinues to perform very well, forming successful deals with large marina chains, major dock builders, and engi-neering firms that value the patented features which make a real difference in the life of a boater.

The Engineering team is hitting full stride with MANY important projects that will serve our dealers and custom-

ers well in the future. The HydroPort NextGen docking platform will be released soon for CNC mold produc-tion in Germany. The mold will be made in two halves and each half will be manufactured from a single aluminum billet that allows for best product aesthetics, functionality, and repeatability in the manufactur-ing process. The product will feature unprecedented ease of use, conve-nient walking access to and from the watercraft, and an increased lifting capacity. We will be releasing more information on several projects that will be product transforming through-out 2019.

I have never been more optimis-tic about the long-term success and sustainability of HydroHoist Marine Group. We continue to focus on hav-ing the best people which ensures the best product and processes.

Thank you for your dedication, loy-alty, and commitment to HydroHoist Marine Group!

Mick Webber

H ydroHoist Boat Lifts was recently recognized as a 2019 Global Star by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).

The NMMA is recognizing a select group of members who exemplify export success in recreational boating — those members who have demonstrated a commitment to exporting, created a healthy balance between domestic and international sales, and built an understanding about why exporting is criti-cal to the long term success of their company.

“For their commitment to exporting, NMMA is proud to rec-ognize HydroHoist Boat Lifts as one of its distinguished 2019 Global Stars,” said Thomas Dammrich, President of NMMA.

D on King arrived at Canyon Lake Marinas in 2004 and shortly thereafter became a

HydroHoist dealer. HydroHoist is their go-to supplier for boat lifts as well as dock lockers, power pedestals and boat and dock protection.

“Over the years, we've installed thousands of HydroHoist products and the quality and performance is unpar-alleled in the industry,” King said.

Last year King worked with local fire department and installed a

16,000 pound lift for a fire/rescue boat to protect it from zebra mus-sels. Coordination of multiple shifts from the fire department may have caused a few gray hairs for some of King’s crew, but they were able to get everyone trained thanks to the staff at HydroHoist of Texas! The fire/rescue teams are thrilled with their purchase.

“Canyon Lake Marinas boat lift

sales have never been stronger,” said King. They believe the price paid for an individual’s boat is a major invest-ment and today’s customer needs to protect that investment.

“We are proud of our partnership with Don King,” said Mick Webber. “Texas is a great market for HydroHoist due in part to the commitment of the folks at Canyon Lake Marinas.”

HydroHoist hosts Family Night at Tulsa Boat Show

HydroHoist employees and their families enjoyed a night out at the Tulsa Boat Show in January where our award-winning products were on full display. With many new faces on the HydroHoist Team, it was great to see newer employees interact more closely with our product lines while also getting to know our sales team members and watch them in action.

In order to get the word out about HarborHoist, Hydro-Hoist partnered with public relations firm, Rushton Gregory, to host a formal media event at the Miami International Boat Show. The event consisted of 13 one-on-one interviews with national publications at our first in-the-water display of the new 25,000 lb. HarborHoist.

The editors traveled to Miami from all over the U.S. to learn more about the HarborHoist features including extended capacity, accelerometer innovation, and intui-tive control. Since the event, HarborHoist by HydroHoist has been featured in numerous online and print articles.

“We expect continued coverage as excitement grows about the increased capacity of the HarborHoist,” said Delayna Trease, HydroHoist Director of Marketing.

T he annual 2018 HydroHoist Boat Lift Dealer Conference was held at the Secrets

Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. HydroHoist hosted 31 differ-ent companies — a total of 80 people in attendance — and featured guest speaker Thom Dammrich, President of National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).

“I enjoyed participating in the HydroHoist Dealer event this year. HydroHoist is providing unparalleled support to its dealer network. The speakers and program were outstand-ing and spot on to help their dealers in all aspects of their business,” said Dammrich. “It is clear that HydroHoist

listens closely to its dealers and pro-vides them with the tools they need to grow their business.”

Various awards were presented during the conference and culmi-nates with the Dealer of the Year announcement. Marine Specialties Inc., Gainesville, Georgia, earned the 2018 title and trophy!

“It was an honor to be named the 2018 HydroHoist Dealer of the Year. The bar keeps getting higher and we love the challenge,” said Carrie Kostyshyn, Marine Specialties,Inc.

HydroHoist Marine Group President & CEO Mick Webber said, “We were proud to present Marine Specialties with the award — they are consis-

tently in the Top 3 each year, and they worked especially hard to win back the title in 2018. We appreciate the efforts of Tom, Carrie and their entire crew at MSI.”

H ydroHoist is proud to announce the receipt of orders from the U.S. Navy

to provide HarborHoist boat lifts to protect Navy security and patrol boats.

The contracts for installations include ports in Virginia, New Jersey, Connecticut, and New Hampshire to be completed in Spring 2019.

HydroHoist was selected through a strong vetting process based on the Navy’s confidence in HydroHoist’s his-

tory and the HarborHoist’s saltwater friendly design. The selection process factored in HydroHoist Boat Lifts posi-tion as the industry leader in boat lift manufacturing, ISO-9001 certification, full-time engineering staff, and cus-tomer service department.

JB Robison Jr., HydroHoist Inside Sales Manager, coordinated the con-tract with the Navy and was the point of contact throughout the process.

“Our regional Navy contact worked

with us through the pre-award vet-ting process,” said Robison.

“HydroHoist’s quality manufac-turing process, strong aluminum saltwater frame, polyethylene tanks and push button control are some of the HarborHoist attributes that set us apart. Ultimately, the affordability of the HarborHoist, ease of operation, and low maintenance requirements confirmed the U.S. Navy’s decision to choose HydroHoist.”

REGIONALHIGHLIGHTS

Texas is ready for the 2019 boating season to begin! HHTX-South kicked off the year attending the Austin Boat & Travel Show at the Austin Convention Center in January. Ray Bible, Sales and Service Coordinator of HHTX-S Distri-bution Center, represented us at the show. The North Texas DFW Boat Expo at Dallas Market Hall was held in February and for HHTX-North it was the best boat show ever! Chris May, HHTX Service Manager manned the booth showcas-ing the HP Extreme and Dock Protection products. The show was a testament that both HHTX locations will be very active this summer servicing our customers, upgrad-ing lifts and taking new lift orders. Excited is what we are!

We kicked off our annual Texas Road Show in March. The first Road Show was at the Omni-Frisco for North Texas. We then traveled south to Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. The pur-pose of the Texas Road Show is to celebrate the success of 2018 and kick-off 2019 with excitement!

We have strong appreciation for our Dealer Network, commercial accounts and our independent contractors. The contractors help get the lifts installed and we could not get it done without them. The relationships we build are valued and appreciated. We are ready for another suc-cessful year! — By Gigi Rhoten, HHTX

It is sunny in Florida! The winter months have been filled with boat shows and marina appearances.

In February, HHFL had two booths at the Miami International Boat Show. The inside booth was repre-sented by HydroHoist and HyPower. The in-the-water display was represented by HydroHoist and our local dealer, Tidewater Boat Lifts. “The HarborHoist is gaining traction. Prospective customers traveled to the show from the Bahamas, Aruba, New Hampshire, and Italy specifically to see the unit in the water. Many that were seeing the hoist for the first time were impressed by the versatility of the hoist. — By Fred Mayer, HHFL

The big story of the first quarter 2019 in our region has been high water and flooding. In Nashville, TN, the total rainfall in February was just over 13 inches!

The nonstop rainfall resulted in widespread flood-ing from Kentucky all the way south into Georgia and Alabama that affected every reservoir in the region. Hats off to the marina personnel and private dock builders that are working nonstop running winches, checking on docks and boats.

On a brighter note, boat show sales have been brisk and consumer confidence remains high. The waters are receding, and very soon we will be running wide open, business as usual! — By Scott Mauldin, HHTN

B ritish Ambassador to the United States Sir Kim Darroch visited Claremore recently on a tour of the southwestern U.S. Before stepping into

the role of ambassador three years ago, Darroch served as the prime minister’s national security advisor.

“I want to see as much of America as I can, and I hadn’t been to Oklahoma,” Darroch said. “It’s a place I’ve always wanted to come to because it’s got a kind of romantic sound to it.”

Darroch and a small team from the UK Embassy and Consulate in Washington D.C. and Houston stopped in Claremore for a tour of RotoMoldUSA, a division of HydroHoist Marine Group.

In particular, they saw how the largest bi-axial rotomold machine in the world is used to mold state-of-the-art plastics for marine, aerospace, transportation, food service, material handling and pharmaceutical industries across the country.

Also in attendance were CCK Strategies founding partner John Curzon and HydroHoist President & CEO Mick Webber. RotoMoldUSA Manufacturing Manager Mike Everett led the tour.

HydroHoist Marine Group is the world-wide indus-try leader in a $130 million and growing market and exports to 23 countries.

Before coming to Claremore, Darroch was in Tulsa at an event with the leaders of 39 Native American tribes and nations, which he called inspiring. “They have an extraordinary heritage and history, with some great triumphs and dark moments as well,” Darroch said.

RotoMoldUSA, by contrast, is a look at the future for Native Americans and Native American-owned and operated businesses. “This is a very successful enterprise run by a leader of the Native American com-munity,” Darroch said. “It is a great example of what can be achieved.”

His take-away from visiting our little corner of the world — “It’s one of the friendliest, if not the friendliest place I have ever visited.”
