What Is Odorox Air Technology?Odorox® hydroxyl processors are a proven technology taken from years of NASA development. This technology was originally developed for NASA’s space missions and has been used in the international space station to eradicate odors and diseases. Odorox’s new commercially available Eco-friendly technology is the industry’s most advanced solution for eliminating odors, purifying the air, decontaminating surfaces and contents. Odorox® technology is a patented, chemical free process which converts ambient moisture in the air into atmospheric hydroxyl radicals. When these hydroxyls flood the room, it penetrates fabrics, porous and non-porous materials, and anywhere air molecules can reach to seek out and destroy bacteria, viruses, mold, mildew, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odors.

What Are Atmospheric Hydroxyls?Hydroxyls are safe, naturally occurring compounds. It’s the single most important cleansing agent created by nature resulting from the interaction between UV energy and moisture in the outdoor air. Hydroxyls have been called “Mother Nature’s Broom” because of their ability to clean the air.

Hydroxyl radicals play a crucial role in keeping the earth’s atmosphere clear of chemical pollutants as well as help to break down potentially harmful airborne organic and inorganic compounds. The Odorox® system use patented technologies and for the first time, harness multiple UV wavelength ranges. These wavelengths combined with ambient air humidity creates atmospheric hydroxyls.

Odorox® processors implement a dual process attack on contaminants:

1. The processing chamber sanitizes airflow and produces hydroxyls (HO•).2. The hydroxyls (HO•) exit the chamber to decontaminate surfaces and contents.

Processing ChamberContaminated air is directed into the chamber where ambient humidity and multiple nanometer wavelengths combine to create an oxidizing formula producing Odorox® hydroxyls.

The quartz crystal optics are finely tuned to deodorize air, eradicate bacteria and other micro-organisms, as well as produce hydroxyls.

The purified air is recycled back into the environment along with hydroxyls to further decontaminate surfaces & contents.

How Does Odorox Air Technology Work?Hydroxyls (HO•) are naturally occurring molecules created in our atmosphere resulting from the sun’s ultraviolet rays reacting with water vapor in the air. However, hydroxyls do not occur naturally indoors, therefore a patented process was created. Through years of field testing, an innovative solution was developed to mimic Mother Nature by safely generating “seek and destroy” molecules designed to eradicate bacteria, viruses, mold, odors, and chemical VOCs. Hydroxyls actually neutralize odor molecules and gasses by breaking down their chemical bonds.

ODOROX® Hydroxyl Processors replicate this natural process:

This system does not require all of the contaminants within a room to pass through the processing chamber, which guarantees a more rapid and thorough decontamination. Outside of the unit, the hydroxyls immediately begin a cascading reaction in the air. These hydroxyls land on hard surfaces, enter vents, and penetrate fabrics to thoroughly eradicate germs and other harmful contaminants. The hydroxyl molecule in the far corner of the room is not necessarily the same hydroxyl molecule that exited the generator. Independent Lab Testing ResultsAntimicrobial efficacy against Staphylococcus Aureus is frequently required by the U.S. EPA and is identified as a “reference bacterium” for Gram positive bacterium for testing purposes. Similarly, antimicrobial efficacy against Pseudomonas Aeruginosa is frequently required by the U.S EPA as a representative pathogen of clinical importance, which is often associated with hospital-acquired infections. Pseudomonas Aeruginosa is a “reference bacterium” for Gram negative bacterium for testing purposes. In the food processing area, another important representative pathogen is the Gram negative bacterium Escherichia coli.

Mold is a much tougher organism to kill when compared to bacteria organisms. Aspergillus Niger is considered one of the most resilient fungal strains and is identified by the EPA as a “reference organism” for testing purposes on the Mold group.

We chose these organisms to test in an independent lab to demonstrate Odorox® technologies ability to kill the toughest “reference” organisms knowing it would show likelihood of being effective on similar organisms in the same area of reference.
