ANNOUNCEMENTS

MEDITATION PRELUDE “Given for You” Blake

*CALL TO PRAYER

Leader: Sing a new song!

People: A joyful melody of springtime glory and rebirth.

Leader: Sing praise to our Easter God.

People: Who has rolled away the stone from the tomb.

Leader: Reach out your hands to touch the wounded Body of Christ.

People: Do not doubt, but believe!

Leader: Immerse your anxiety and despair in the fountain of new birth,

People: For God has done wondrous things.

* HYMN “Thine Is the Glory” #139 Red Hymnal

*PRAYER OF INVOCATION (in Unison)

O Risen Christ, be with us this day. We recognize your wounded hands;

they tell us that You know what it is to struggle and suffer, and to prevail

in the power of love. We grasp those hands, that they may lead us

together into a deeper place of peace. Our week has left worries,

answerless questions, blatant injustices, and unexpected disappointments.

Like Thomas, we come with our doubts, our questions, and our skepticism.

Like Thomas, we hear your challenge to touch your wounds. O Risen Lord,

extend to us your joy. Give us imagination. Pour into us the freshness of

your new life; for You are our strength and our might. How wonderful You

are for your loving-kindness toward us. Amen! Alleluia!

Advocating for Our Values Featuring Katie Adams, UCC policy advocate for domestic issues

Whether your concern is the environment, access to health care, racism or some other topic, you probably believe our national elected officials could do a better job. As Christians, what is our role in holding them accountable? When we contact our Members of Congress, does it have any impact? What are the most effective ways to voice our concerns? Katie Adams is our denomination’s policy advocate for domestic issues and a former Congressional staffer. Based in Washington, D.C., her work informs the UCC’s positions and advocacy on a host of issues, such as poverty, hunger and gender-based violence. In this interactive webinar, Katie will answer our questions, demystify the workings of Congress and give insight into the role constituents play in effecting change. If you are interested in learning more about UCC’s advocacy activities, we invite you to explore www.ucc.org, or sign up to receive advocacy news at: https://www.ucc.org/news/sign-up-for-news/

To join the webinar on April 22, please go to www.richfielducc.com, and click on “Meetings Online.”

To help her prepare, Katie has asked that we submit some questions in advance. Please submit any questions you may have about advocacy

and Congress to the church office by April 16. We hope to see you there! The Just Peace Committee

What is meant by "Fully vaccinated?" "Fully vaccinated" means that at least two weeks have passed since your final vaccine. So, if you got the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, you need to wait two weeks after the second dose. If you got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, just wait two weeks after your single dose.
