GeneralGenerals[Generals]The wheel and tire are assembled in a body and rotatedtogether.By the air pressure inside of the tire, the tire cansustain the vehicle's weight. The air pressure acts as abuffer so as to absorb the shocks from the road surface. As a result, tire plays an important role for enhancing theride value of the vehicles. In addition, by the frictionalforce between the tire and the road surface, it is possibleto run, to stop and to change direction.[Size of Tire and Wheel]Bias Tire

InstallationWARNING
a. Replace the wheel with the steel or aluminumwheel installed as a default part. Do not installdifferent type of wheels .
b. If you want to replace the wheel with differenttype, you should replace the hub stud and wheelnut also
[Front tire]NOTICE
a. Clear the thread surface of the wheel bolt and thewheel nut being installed.
b. Before the installation, coat wheel bearing grease atthe wheel bolt and nut.
1. After install the wheel and tire (B) to the hub (C),tighten the wheel nut (A) in the diagonal order.
CAUTIONWhen installing the tubeless tire, the air valveshould be aligned with the notch of brake drum.

KMTPA402A
3. Remove the wooden block (A) from the front and rearof the front wheel.
KMTPA401A
Inspection1. Measure the tire air pressure. If need, control the
pressure with the specification.
KWT1003A
2. Measure tread length of the tire.
Tread length (limit) : 1.6mm
NOTICEa. If the tread length is less then 1.6mm, then mark
for wear limit is shown.b. If the tire is worn unevenly or abnormally, even
the limit mark is shown, then the tire should bereplaced.
KWT1004B
3. Check the tire if there are worst damage (A) andcrack (B), if need, replace the tire.
KWT1005A
4. Measure the tire vertical run out.
Nominal value : 3.5mm
KWT1006A
5. If the tire vertical run out exceeds the nominal value, perform a correction as following method.1. Make marking (A) on the wheel and hub bolts of
tire side.2. Remove the tire from the wheel. Re-install the tire
with being aligned to the mark (A).3. Measure the run out of the disk wheel. If the
portion having large run out is near the marking(A), then rotate the tire with 180° from the markand then install the tire.
4. Measure again the tire vertical run out.5. If the run out is of the nominal value after the
correction, replace the tire and wheel assembly.

Disassembly1. Drain out all air from the tire (A).
KWT1009A
2. Insert a bar (B) between the side ring (A) and tire bid.Press the bar up and down along with thecircumference of the ring.
KWT1010A
3. By inserting a lever (B) at the edge portion of the sidering (A), push the bar (C) into the get between thelever and the side ring.
KWT1011A
4. Push the bar (A) into the center of the tire. Insert thelever (B) between the side ring (C) and wheel rim (D).
CAUTIONWhen the half portions of the side ring areremoved, remained portions of the side ring willbe automatically removed. At the time be carefulthat the side ring may abruptly spring up.
KWT1012A
5. Push the air valve (A) into the valve hole of the wheelrim.
CAUTIONA valve should be capped by a valve cap (B) forpreventing the thread surface of the air valvefrom being damaged.
KWT1013A
6. Set up the tire (A) vertically and press the center oftire lightly.
CAUTIONBe careful that the wheel (B) may be removedsuddenly.
KWT1014A
7. Insert a lever (A) between the bid positioned near theair valve and the wheel rim. Push the rim to remove.
CAUTIONBe careful that the wheel (B) may be removedsuddenly.
KWT1015A
8. Lay down the tire (A). After remove the flap, take outthe tube (B).
KWT1016A
Inspection1. Checking the flatness degree of the wheel
a. Using a dial gauge (A), measure the flatness thedegree at the 170mm and 270mm of the wheel(B) diameters.
b. For measuring the flatness the degree, performthe measurement at least 16 points positionedwith sufficient distance there between in thewheel diameter. The flatness degree of the wheelis the difference between the measured maximumvalue and the minimum value.
c. If the flatness degree exceeds the specification, replace the wheel.
Flatness degree of the wheel (hub surface) : 0.5mm orless
KWT1017A
2. Checking the vertical, horizontal run out of the wheel.Using a dial gauge (A), measure the vertical, horizontal run out of the wheel(B).If the measurementexceeds the specification, replace the wheel.
Vertical run out : 1.7mm or lessHorizontal run out : 1.8mm or less
KWT1018A
Reassembly1. After inject air into the tube (A) a little, insert the tube
into the tire (B).
KWT1019A
2. Insert on air valve (B) into the valve hole of the flap(A). Insert the flap into the tire (C).
KWT1020A
3. Lay down the wheel (A) on the ground. Insert the airvalve (B) into the valve hole
KWT1021A
4. Take the wheel (A) into the tire. Install the side ring(B) at the ring groove.
CAUTIONThe edge surface of the ring side should beoffset from the air valve at least 15cm.
KWT1022A
5. By pressing the edge portion of the side ring (A) onfoot, install the side ring with the lever (B)
CAUTIONBe ensured that the side ring should be insertedcompletely.
KWT1023A
6. Inject air into the tire.
CAUTIONAfter inserting a iron bar (A) into the wheel andbeing apart from the tire, inject air little by little.
KWT1024A
7. Check whether the side ring is firmly assembled withthe wheel and weather the air leaks from the airvalve.
KWT1025A
8. Adjust the balance of the wheel and tire.
NOTICEa. The dynamic balance value should be 40g at
each side of the rim.b. There are 2 balance weight inside and outside
axis, respectively. The maximum value of oneside should below.
The maximum value of one side
HD65 less than 160g
HD72, HD78 less than 230g
c. If the unbalance amount exceeds 270g(HD72,HD78), 200g (HD65) at one side before adjustingthe tire balance, disassemble the tire andreassemble.
Tubeless TireComponents

Disassembly1. Drain out all air of the tire.
KWT1027A
2. Press the side portions of the tire to form a gapbetween the wheel rim and the tire bid.
KWT1028A
3. Apply soap water on the surface of the tire bid andthe wheel rim.
4. Lay down the tire so as the wheel disk(A) surface tocontact ground. Using a lever (B), apply force alongwith the circumference of the rim to disassemblesome portion of the rim from the tire(C).
KWT1029A
5. Turn up the tire so as the wheel disk surface (A) toface up. By inserting the lever (b) between the tire bidand the wheel rim, apply force to remove the wheel.

Reassembly1. Assemble the air valve (A) slightly.
CAUTIONCover a valve cap (B) at the valve for preventingits thread surface from being damaged.
KWT1032A
2. Apply soap water on the surface of the tire bide andwheel rim.
3. Lay down the wheel so as the surface of wheel diskto face down to the ground. Push the tire to assemblesome portions of the tire bed with wheel rim.
4. Insert a lever (A) between the wheel rim and tire bid.By pulling the lever to the side of the tire (B),assemble the other portion of the tire bid with thewheel rim.
KWT1033A
5. With pressing the tire (A) on foot, push down the tirebid and pull up the wheel using another lever.
NOTICEUntil the tire is assembled with the tire completely, continue this action along with the circumference ofthe wheel.
KWT1034A
6. Inject the air into the tire.
CAUTIONAfter insterting a iron bar(A) into the wheel andbeing apart from the tire, inject air little by little
KWT1024A
7. By applying soap water between the rim flange andthe tire bid, check if there are air leaks.
