POLICE PERSONNEL FROM 25 COUNTRIES
MANDATE- - To support the full implementation of the Agreement on Peace and reconciliation in Mali, in particular in its political dimensions and aspects linked to security, notably to support the Government efforts for the effective restoration and extension of State authority and rule of law throughout the territory ;
- - To support the implementation of the ceasefire, the deployment of mixed patrols, the redeployment of the reformed and reconstituted Malian Defense and Security Forces in the Centre and North of Mali and to support the cantonment, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of the signatory armed groups ;
- - To ensure the protection of civilians under immediate threat of physical violence ;
- To support national and international efforts towards rebuilding the Malian security sector, especially the Police and Gendarmerie, through technical assistance, capacity-building, co-location and mentoring programmes.
