Public ResponseFrom: Wells Ken Sent: Friday, October 03, 2008 3:58 PMTo: DOT Public Relations (DelDOT)Subject: I-95 Churchman's Marsh 5-lave project Dear Delaware Department of Transportation, Now that it is finally done (or at least all lanes are open), I am lovingthis. I go to work and maybe I get a quick tap on the brakes as I head into Wilmington. And when I go home in the evening, I don’t have that 10 minute backup right where all the lanes come together. Can’t wait until it is completed and the speed limit goes back to normal. Nicest part is this shot up my fuel economy by 4 mpg. It’s going to save me a half-gallon a week just commuting to work. Not much I know, but every little bit helps. Again, thanksKenneth Wells

From: Ann Ravaschio Sent: Monday, October 20, 2008 2:28 PMTo: Seemans Misty (DelDOT)Subject: FW: I-95 fifth lane feedbackGood afternoon.I have to tell you I went up to new Jersey Saturday and found the 5th lane project wonderful. Gave much needed space where there is always much congestion.

From: Zimmerman, Tinicka Sent: Friday, September 26, 2008 3:36 PMTo: DOT Public Relations (DelDOT)Subject: THANKS!!!! Dear DelDot: I just wanted to send a note of appreciation for the added lane off NB I-95 from Route 1NB.  I started a new job which takes me from RTE1 to NB 95 to 141SB.  I was quite apprehensive about the traffic in the morning getting on 95 NB due to the crazy congestion before 8am.  Since that lane has opened I went from a 45 minute to a 30 minute (sometimes 20 min) commute because the traffic flows so well.

• “Some might call it a miracle, but I know it is a combination of committed efforts on a state and federal level that completed this project in half the time and at under cost.”

Delaware Senator Tom Carper • “With 230,000 vehicles traversing this stretch of

highway every day, eliminating congestion is not just of local concern but also of national interest. It amazed me that DelDOT and the contractor were able to keep an active and safe work zone as thousands of cars sped by only a few feet away.”

Delaware Congressman Michael N. Castle

FROM: RI, WILMINGTON NEWARK DE GM SENT: MONDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2008 1:57 PMTO: DELDOTSUBJECT: RE: I-95 FIFTH LANE FEEDBACK I THINK THE PUBLIC OUTREACH WAS CRITICAL AND VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. I

HAVE USED THE INFORMATION PROVIDED TO ADVISE MY MANAGERS, ASSOCIATES AND GUESTS. I HAVE ALSO

FORWARDED TO OUR OTHER MARRIOTT MANAGED COURTYARDS IN THE AREA. I HAVE DRIVEN THE SECTION NUMEROUS TIMES AND FEEL THE RESULT OF THE

PROJECT WILL IMPROVE THE CONGESTION IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. I FEEL THE CONTRACTOR DID AN EXCELLENT JOB

THROUGHOUT. THANKS
