The stockings stuffed
The feast begun.
Did you consider Christ, yet?
How do we pause,
Drown out the bustle?
How do we tackle these traditionswe wrestle?
If Jesus’ birth is what we praise,
Why all these other things thisholiday?
Truth be told, I do not know.
But wonder if it’s because of this...
The gift of love came down in aman.
He taught us to love our friends:
Give what you have to those inneed
Let the little children squeal withglee, upon the Father’s knee.
Get away from the crowd now andthen
Spend devoted time with closestkin.
Do for a stranger what you’d do forthe King.
Do our traditions hold the reasonfor our holiday season?
Do they reflect the ways His loveis given?
I am certain they do when wepause to say,
I am doing this in Jesus’ name.
When the busyness leads awayfrom peace,
And into distraction,
He gently says,
I am the light of the world,
Come just for you.
You heart to warm,
You home to fill.
The things you do,
The traditions you make,
Can bring me joy when done formy sake.

Ground Zero“Where Heroes are Discovered”
What is Ground Zero?An intense discipleship program that encouragesyouth to live up to their full Christ-like potential.
When and where does it meet?We meet as a group at NorthStar Christian Academy:Boys - Thursdays 7:00-8:00AM, Girls – Wednesdays7:00-8:00am.
Who is eligible to attend?Any 9-12 grade student who has a sincere desire tobecome all that Christ created her or him to be!
How long is the commitment? Our 1st session goes from January - May 2017.
Is there mentoring involved?Yes, each student will be matched with a mentor.Ideally, the mentor will already have an establishedrelationship with the mentee. Mentors will provide on-going encouragement and accountability.
What will students be learning?Who they are in Christ and how to live out being theman or woman of honor God created each to be. Theywill be trained in doing “the hard things” that arerequired of a follower of Christ.
What’s the long-term goal?To develop a society of young people that want to

But the most important thing isthis:

NorthStar ChristianAcademy Establishes“Learning Groups” forIndependent Learners
Effective 2nd Semester (01/23/ 2017) NCA will be forming“Learning Groups” for 9-12th grade independent learners*.
NCA will provide subject matter support, accountability, andencouragement in a Christian environment. We will comealong side each student to not only help ensure theirsuccess in the class, but also enhance the students'understanding of the subject matter by providing a “BiblicalWorld View” perspective on subjects when applicable.
For those interested this opportunity, Enroll today in theMinnesota Department of Education (MDE) Approvedonline course(s) of your choice that fits with yourgraduation requirements.
