LOST IN A LGEW OODS is a life-sized strategy board game that requires students to evaluatealgebraic expressions as they physically move

around the board. The key purpose of this gameis to encourage students to master their algebraicfundamentals in order to excel in the game.Teams have to strategise and solve algebraic

equations to collect more A LGEBRICKS (a type of point system). It is a game of strongmathematical fundamentals and quick wit thathelps to develop students' interest in algebra.

Tampines Secondary School



This innovation was developed by a teacher whois mission driven and passionate about his job.Not only has this life sized strategy game helpedto motivate students to develop a greater interestin algebra, this initiative has also resulted instudents exploring algebraic concepts that mostsecondary students may not be otherwiseinterested in. After the introduction of the game,there was also a marked improvement in thestudents algebraic competencies due to theirheightened interest in algebra.

The Isogrid ruler is an educational tool designed tohelp students visualize and conceptualize better when utilizing the isometric drawing technique.

This tool is especially useful for weaker students who are not as competent in abstract thinking.This tool enables students to draw objects inisometric views with greater ease and speed. With

students able to grasp fundamental concepts faster,teachers can progress quickly to other techniquessuch as crating and sketching of isometric viewsusing freehand sketches.

Fuchun Secondary School



This tool helps weaker students who struggle with visualizing angles and drawing lines and triangles.

It can be used as a fundamental tool for training indrawing and helps pupils to effectively design anddraw all sorts of lines. The tool is especially usefulfor D&T lessons. Moreover, this innovation can be

scaled to other subjects such as Mathematics and Art. It is cost effective and original as there iscurrently no similar product availablecommercially.

Fuchun Secondary School



This special trolley was designed by the schoolto replace the use of the traditional trolley.During the examinations period, the elderly school attendants are required to transporthundreds of tables and chairs to theexamination hall and this requires a lot of physical strength. With this new innovation, theschool attendants are now able to easily transport the same number of tables and chairsaround the school compound in a shorter spanof time with much lesser effort.

St. Andrews Junior College



This innovation works like a forklift and is able tosave the elderly school attendants much time andeffort. With this new trolley, school attendantscan now easily manoeuvre the furniture aroundthe school. The spirit of the team should also becommended as the team persevered and wentthrough several rounds of modification andimprovements as they brainstormed to refinetheir project.

The mini light projector is made using lowpowerconsumption super bright LEDs. Its mainpurpose is to help Art & Design students transfertheir draft artwork onto large canvasses. The useof the OHP helps to magnify small images tolarge surfaces, hence making mural paintings on walls much easier.

While the device is not as adjustable as an OHP,this simple innovation is a lot more affordableand is energy saving. It is a simple but effectivetool that facilitates mural drawing for students.Moreover, the design of the devise is simple andcan be easily replicated.

This project promotes reading among theschool's Secondary 2 students, driven by trainedfellow Secondary 2 students the Reading Ambassadors. They facilitate group activitiesbased on selected texts as well as subsequentdiscussions involving their classmates duringallocated curriculum time every fortnight andstimulate their peers interest in these texts.Through this programme, these Ambassadors aretransformed into academic student leaders whoencourage their peers as well as otherschoolmates to read widely on a regular basis.

The Online Oral Examination is an online portal where students are tested on their oratorical skills.It is a diagnostic tool for assessing oral proficiency

in Mandarin. With this innovation, oralexamination can be conducted for the entire classof 40 students within 15 minutes, saving time forteachers and students. All instructions regarding

the Online Oral Examination have been pre-recorded and students only need to follow thestep-by-step instructions on the screen to completethe oral examination, comprising of passage

reading and conversation topic.

Outram Secondary School



Traditionally, oral examinations are timeconsuming for both teachers and students. Withthis Online Oral Examination, teachers at Outram

Secondary School are now able to conduct oralexaminations for a class of 40 within 15 minutesusing two computer labs (20 students in each lab).It has made the oral examination process more

efficient and teachers are able to listen and assessaccordingly by setting aside time on their own toaccess the audio files. This innovation is adevelopment from the school's efforts and is a step-

up from the usual practice.
