Evaluation of option 1

Advantages Drawbacks

- Cables is a light structure- Cables is small structure and easy to integrate

- Cables cannot work in compression- Equal tension in all cables shall be managed- Stability of rings during insertion/extraction inside the IST-Risk of push/pull stop- Need a rail inside the IST

Evaluation of option 2

Advantages Drawbacks

- Stability of the ring are guarantied- Push pull stop is avoided- Can work in traction but also in compression

- Difficult integration due to space constrain- Difficult access to connect to the pushing/pulling system-Additional carbon structure- Need a rail inside the IST

Evaluation of option 4

Advantages Drawbacks

- Stability of the ring - Push pull stops is avoided- No loading Can protect the services during the installation scenario- Does not need any guiding rails inside the IST because torsion on the service support rings can be controlled from the beam pipe- Sealing ring can be a support ring for the beam pipe-The additional support for the beam pipe may help for its stability.

- Cable for pushing/pulling operation, work only in traction- One additional connection between the beam pipe and the IST. This support is needed for load (between 20 to 30 kg) distribution on the IST

Conclusion

o We have to evaluate all of this solutions to chose one for the development.

• Currently option 1 has been developed
