Water Commissioner Garbeck reported that after mILking a study of the financesof the Vil.1&ge and the Water Department he discovers that the wages paid to josephFa.raci. Maintenance Man. should be charged on a basis of fiot to the Vil1&ge and 50tto tlte Wa.ter Department instead as Iteretofor 90t to water department and lOt to theVillage Fund. - A change such as tltis would save the water department in the mext fourmonths $ 1.048.00 by paying tt ese wages during that period of time from the VillageFund to offset payment during the prior (our IIllInths by the water department.Also that gas &, 011 for Ford Truck should be charged 50t to Village Fund. That untilthe end of the year woudl save another 1.00.00 for the water department. Bifter thefour PB¥ments from the Villa,e Fum ending in August a fiOt payment from each fund untilthe end of the year would mean an additional eavings to the water department of 526.00making a total saving to water department to end of $ 1612.00. a 101. increase insalaries e.nd wages to the water department employees would be appro~mete11 a $ 100.00a month till the end of the year or a total of $ 800.00. Mr.Lerczak appeared at meeting. and requested' that. further t1.le approximatelyAOQfeetb~_laid in MiLLer, Drive past property of Phi1ip Froehley and William Miller.He said that both Froehley and Mill.er had agreed with him that the digging and backfilUng\'lould be done by them if" the Village agreed to purchase the tile. 'Mr.Lierczak agreed to assume the responsibility c.overing the wori of both Froehleyand Miller and further agreed to purchase the tile and later bill the Village forthis tile at the same price that the Village could have bought same. as soon asfunds are available by the Village. Motion made by Mr.Sibley and seconded by Mi'.Carbeck that Mr.Lerczak be given, authority to do this work as outlined,above.'Unanimous.ly Carried.

Village Attorney reported that as yet the Evans Journal. is not duly established asa newspaper and it his understanding that journal must be in existance at 1east two·years. Mr.Guest, owner of tha illvans'lJtournal is checking further into the legalityof same as a newspaper.

The adoption of the proposed zoning ordinances was ;tabled unti'1 further advicefrom the Village Attorney whether. or not the Evans Journal could· be used. to publish,off1.eial notices.
