\y /E V E got a funny feeling,' folk*.,W A few day* off from this writing something ia going to happen.

A couple of vividly colored football team* are going to line up on Municipal Oval. There ia going to be a shrill, thin blast o f a whistle. A thumping "boomp” will fotbwr.

Then twenty-two men will sweep into action, bowling over oneanother, crashing their bodies into the sods, stamping their cleats for« rip * |

    • One of the teams—eleven of the men—will be Lyndhurst.

    j W e’ve gat a funny feeling.

j We thought basketball was interesting—hot suns failed to fade our feeling for baseball. We thrilled when the gentlemen in shorts need half naked around cinder tracks.J But now we know we have been waiting for only one thing. We want t» see that Blue and Gold eleven go into action. We want to see that green bunch of youngster» talk big and bare their teeth—vicious fashion—and clench their fists and go forward calling out death and disorder for the enemy. ,

    We've got a funny feeling.

For an hour or two, eleyen Lyndhunt youths an early going to face the realities of life. Trouble in great, heaping gobs will stare them full in the face. Eleven opponents, every bit as determined to win as they ate going to be ready to thwart their plans for a triumph.

*B ut Park Ridge may be better than Lyndhurst—Park Ridge may be worse. Lyndhurst may win or Lyndhurst may lose. Park Ridge may get the breaks, Lyndhurst may get them. The ball may bound into th is player's hands from that player's grip, giving one team a fa in advantage, perhaps an unwarranted victory.

This question will be popping in the local followen’ Blinds: “Is this year's team equal to that fierce charging squad of last year?" Thenwill be shoes to fill, memories to erase, path* to follow.

When Mr. Olson'» aggregation lines up acron Municipal Oval there ar^ going to be cheers—that may descend into dismal moans—or ascend to 11 more exultant volume. •

It's a green, crude outfit that will represent Lyndhurst. Saturday it may win—Saturday it may Ion. Succeeding games may be necessary to bring out all its flaws or all its good points.

Lyndhurst now is an unknown quantity. To prophesy a successful season for it would be foolhardy at this unsettled stage. After Saturday there may be foundation on which to make conjectures. The result may be a victory, a loss or a draw. , ,

    W e don’t know. No one don .

    H urry up there Mr. Referee—we've got a funny feeling./ ■ * • v
