W HAT MAKES IT AN ISN? Organization! Table of Contents Every page has a title, date, and number Right side teacher input Left side student output Graphic organizers and colors on input side Unit tabs All papers are glued or taped into the notebook

ISN A DVANTAGES Organization! Every student has same information/activity on same page easy to make up lost work Students know what were doing now and where to do it. Papers dont get lost Logs get checked on the spot Students have a lasting log of their progress log, test, or junior high Students essentially create a text book they can use to review in subsequent years (read: Module F test)

ISN - D ISADVANTAGES If it aint broke, dont fix it But my handwriting is too big! Why should I copy it now? Ill get it from so- and-so later. I lost my notebook I didnt know we were supposed to copy it onto another paper and submit it! Who has glue/scissors/colored pens? Periodic checking doesnt always happen
