semi-detached industrial lots worth RM10 million for a duration of two years.

Attended an entrepreneurship workshop, entitled “Converting Technology to Wealth: A

Series of Six Modules Entrepreneurship Workshop” organised by the IC² Institute of The

University of Texas at Austin from 12 February to 25 April 2007 in Kuala Lumpur. The

workshop is valued at RM25,000 was sponsored by the Malaysian Technology Development

Corporation (MTDC).

Attended a summer school entitled “Skills development course for the technology transfer and

innovation support professions” organised by the the European Association for the Transfer of

Technology, Innovation and Industrial Information from 17-21 September 2007 in Larnaca,

Cyprus. The training program is valued at RM15,000 and was sponsored by MTDC.

Attended the Licensing Executive Society 2008 Annual Meeting organised by LES (USA and

Canada) Inc. From 19 – 25 October 2008 in Orlando, Florida. The training program is valued

at RM25,000 and was sponsored by the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation.

XIX Current Activities

At the Faculty of Management, I teach postgraduate students, supervise doctoral students,

conduct research and write journals for publication as per the requirement of the university.

Occasionally, I would supervise one or two masters (by research) and undergraduate students.

At Connecting Asia Sdn. Bhd. I function as the Chief Executive Officer and plans, organizes

and executes training and confrences nationally and abroad. I also sit on the Board of Director

of Sparkle Precision Sdn. Bhd., a UTM affiliated company.

Diverse areas of interest including: Sustainability Management, Entrepreneurship,

Commercialization, Technology Management, Performance Measurement, Service Quality,

Marketing Management, Hospitality Management, Transmigration and Urbanization Studies,

Administration and Psychological Studies.

XXI Brief Biodata

Professor Dr Amran Rasli has a PhD in Society, Business & Globalisation from Roskilde

University, Denmark. He owns a copyright on a conference management system and several

other research frameworks and questionnaires. He is a director and CEO of a spin-off

company that organizes training and conferences nationally and abroad. He also liaises, plans

and conducts entrepreneurship activities with funding agencies to ensure long term

sustainability and impact for the entrepreneurs and the agencies concerned. At the Faculty of

Management, Professor Amran teaches postgraduate students, supervise doctoral students,

conduct research projects and write journals for publication as per the requirement of the

university. Professor Amran is still active in doctoral supervision having graduated 39 PhD

scholars as of December 2017. He had been invited as a visiting professor at University

College of Engineering and Technology, Pahang, Indian Institute of Risk Management,

Hyderabad, India, Hebei University, China, Kaunas Technological University, Lithuania,

National Central University, Taoyuan, Taiwan, National Chen Kung University, Tainan,

Taiwan, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surabaya, Indonesia, Universitas Bung Hatta, Indonesia,

Sarhad University, Pakistan, Islamia College and City University, Peshawar. He is also

currently an Adjunct Professor at Asia E-University.
