Dear Parishioners, St. Peter Chrysologus wrote in the 5th century, “To behold the Resurrection, the stone must first be rolled away from our hearts.” On Easter Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene visited the tomb of Christ and found the

large stone removed. That large stone was probably the biggest objection to Christ’s Resurrection. Human thoughts can be heavier and harder than large stones. When our minds and hearts are filled with impenetrable, hard and heavy stones of doubt, prejudice, despair and fear, it becomes impossible to believe and live in the Resurrection of Christ. May we open our hearts to Christ’s Resurrection and live as people of hope! Let me wish you all a Blessed Easter! Blessings of peace, serenity and hope!

Yours Sincerely, Fr. Jose Shaji, Pastor

It is the news of a great victory. It is the solution of a great perplexity. It is the assurance of a great triumph.--Frederick Temple

At Easter, the Church resumes singing Alleluia at Mass. Our Alleluia celebrates the central events of the Christian faith and the

central turning point of human history. The resurrection of Jesus first revealed the victory of Jesus on the cross. Jesus fulfilled God's promises to rescue Israel and all of humanity from the effects of sin and death. Easter reveals that God's new creation has now been launched, with Jesus' resurrected body as its first demonstration. This new creation will be completed upon Jesus' return, when heaven and earth are fully joined. Right now, in this new Reign of God in Jesus, the Holy Spirit empowers us to join God's project, to renew all of God's beloved creation. And Easter reminds us that wherever we are in life, whatever difficulties or messes we find ourselves in, God offers us a new beginning. Alleluia indeed!

Rediscover Your Marriage – Retrouvaille (pronounced retro-vi with a long i) simply means “rediscovery.” The program offers the chance to rediscover yourself, your spouse, and a loving relationship in your marriage. 10’s of 1000’s headed for divorce have successfully saved their marriages by attending. Retrouvaille is not a spiritual retreat, not a sensitivity group, not a seminar, not a social gathering. For confidential information about or to register for the program beginning with a weekend on April 13 – 15, call (415)893-1005 or email: [email protected] or visit the web site at” www.HelpOurMarriage.org

  • "On Saturday afternoon Don Leach opened our imaginations to Ireland a long time ago. He first introduced us to St. Patrick and then to the stories of leprechauns meddling in the lives of everyday people. To add to the enchantment, Suziki Cady played Irish tunes on her fiddle. A delightful hour on a rainy Saturday afternoon."

Did anyone find the Pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow at St. Anselm Church?

A huge St. Anselm thank you to Joan Mann Thomas and her spectacular crew of volunteers-Rich Thomas, Deacon Ed & Cathy Cunningham, Ann Carroll, Trudy Orlandi, Linda Crosby, Gail Meave, and Jeff Baumsteiger-for a very wonderfully Irish St. Patrick’s Day Dinner celebration. And a special acknowledgement to the most popular item on the menu...Fr. Jose’s Irish Coffees. The evening was filled with fun and camaraderie.
