    1/1

I thank our attorney, Ricardo Corona, for his moving words duringthe press conference yesterday in court, referring to myGrandfather Manuel Campaneria Rojas, the ex-political prisonerfrom a Cuban dictatorship regime, my grandfather and all Cuban

other political prisoners living in Miami, vigorously fought to taketheir children and relatives away fromdictatorial regime. I will notallow the law that was established during the segregation era in1949 to keep the minorities, African Americans from the whiteschools to deprive my family and other families alike from thefreedom of choice. My grandfather did not sacrifice 15 years ofhis life in Cuban prison in honor of my family and all those whohave ever been discriminated against.

Along with our attorney, Ricardo Corona, I will fight against anunjust imprisonment that can separate me from my little girl. It issad that in this democratic country a family is being condemnedas criminals to give good education to their child in public school. Iconsider all political prisoners as national heroes who paint thepath to freedom for all mankind.

Corona, who identified himself as a Cuban American, said to

Phillyburbs.com.and ABC6NEWS He was flattered that HamletGarcia would come to him for legal help. He said Hamlet Garciasgrandfather had been a political prisoner in communist Cuba andwas considered a hero in Floridas Cuban community.

Corona said that the lines of communication have been openedwith the district attorneys office and, after reviewing all of theevidence, efforts will be made to resolve the matter.
