II. There has been a great DECEPTION

1. The FIRST Deception

1 PETER 5:8

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

A. Satan DECEIVED Evei. What you believe God said is WRONG (vs.4)ii. God is trying to keep something FROM you (vs.5)

III. There is a great NEED for the Truth

John 8:32

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

1. Knowledge of the TRUTH is what is powerful.

Truth has the power to: A. Live a life of JOY and PEACE B. Have a PERSONAL relationship with God C. To CLEANSE our Sin and give us eternal life

There is one Major Issue that Separates Biblical Christianity from every religion and belief system and that is the person of JESUS Christ.

2. Worldly Teaching

A. We are Taught that KNOWLEDGE is POWER

B. The more EDUCATED you are the better off you are.

2 Timothy 3:7

“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

This belief led ADAM and EVE afraid of God and believing that they had to provide covering from their sin on their own.

III. There is a great NEED for the Truth

John 8:32

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

“Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Great Commission Matthew 28:18-20

“18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

God has Commanded us to declare the GOSPEL

“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

1. ONE Faith2. It is IMMUTABLE3. We are to earnestly CONTEND4. This faith has ENEMIES
