Andrew Curl, 21HND Computing

I chose to study ICT as I’ve always beeninto computers and wanted to get ajob in IT. I originally studied the BTECNational Diploma at Walsall Collegeand so the HND was the naturalprogression. I really enjoyed my time atCollege, the tutors were verysupportive and I made a lot of friends.

The courses I undertook prepared mewell and gave me the knowledge andwork experience I needed. A lot of thework based knowledge you learn can

be used directly in the workplace.

I have now gone on to get a job as anIT Technician at Birchills Primary Schooland I’m really enjoying it. I’ve got quitea bit of freedom in my role and as I amin charge of ordering IT equipment, Iget to have a say in how things work. Ieventually plan to progress to a job inSoftware Development or ITConsultancy.

I would encourage others to take aHigher Education course at WalsallCollege. If you work hard and havegot the right attitude, you’ll benefit.
