With over 760,000 passengers travelling through our building in 2011, we have now become the fastest-growing airport in Canada over the last ten years. We are expanding the passenger lounge and have added new car-pet, seats, TVs and have given the room a new paint job! But we’re not done yet. We’re making other adjustments to make the building as comfortable and efficient as pos-sible while the new terminal takes shape. The new 15,000 square meter Air Terminal Building will dramatically change how customers experience the Fort McMurray Airport when it opens in April 2014. 2012 SPEAKERS AT YOUR CONFERENCE

James E. Johnson, A.A.E., Executive Director, Airport Services, American Association of Airport Executives. James E. Johnson, A.A.E., assumed his current position at AAAE in April 2000. He is responsible for airport services offered by the Association, which include professional training, strategic planning, peer reviews and airport technology solutions. Before joining AAAE, his 30-year career in airport management included executive positions at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport; St. Louis Regional Airport; the Quad Cities Airport in Moline, Illinois, and Tampa International Airport. Mr. Johnson is a graduate of St. Louis University and is an Accredited Airport Executive. Mr. Johnson was elected president of AAAE (1990); president of the Florida Airport Managers Association (1994); and President of the Great Lakes Chapter, AAAE (1980). He also served as Chairman of the Board of Examiners in 1992. This Board oversees the professional

accreditation program for airport executives. Jacqueline Booth, Chief of Technical Program Evaluation, Transport Canada. Jacqueline is the Chief, Technical Program Evaluation and Coordination (TPEC). In this role she is responsible for the evaluation and coordination of the Civil Aviation regulatory program and for providing technical support functions to the Standards Branch. Jacqueline’s responsibilities include the development of regulations that impact all areas of Civil Aviation including safety management systems and fatigue management systems. She is responsible for the development of guidance materials supporting the regulatory program, international agreements and regulatory exemptions. She is also responsible for the development of the Civil Aviation surveillance program and safety promotions and awareness in support of the Civil Aviation regulatory program. Jacqueline has been with the Department for 15 years. Her former positions include, acting

director of Standards and acting Director Maintenance and Manufacturing. She holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees, as well as a diploma in Aviation Safety from the University of Southern California.

Scott Ray P.Eng., General Manager, Programs Deployment, Canadian Air Transport Security Authority. Mr. Ray holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University and a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Carleton University. Over the course of his career, Mr. Ray has been involved in automation projects with General Motors, Ford and the Royal Canadian Mint. Mr Ray started his career with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) in August 2002. He is responsible for the procurement and deployment of all EDS equipment and systems and ensures Canadian airport system designs meet CATSA and Transport Canada screening requirements.

James Bogusz, Director Airside Operations, Technology & Environment, Victoria Airport Authority. James joined the Victoria Airport Authority in 2007 as the Manager of Information Technology. In 2008, additional responsibilities of air service development, airport marketing and tourism development were added to his portfolio. In 2010, he moved into the position of Director of Airside Operations, Technology & Environment. James is an active member of the Canadian Airports Council’s (CAC) Operations, Safety and Technical Affairs Committee, the CAC Environment Committee and serves on the board for the North West Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). James also participates in Airports Council International (ACI-NA) and International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) events and conferences.

Maxx Kochar C.M., Manager, Business Improvement Services, Business Design , Greater Toronto Airports Authority. Maxx Kochar, C.M., CPP is a business professional with 25 years of diverse management experience. He is with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority at Toronto Pearson working in the Strategic Planning and Airport Development department, as the Manager of Business Design. He is responsible for developing quality, innovation and creativity best practices and approaches to deliver collaborative business solutions; operating as a dedicated internal consultancy the Business Design group is a proud contributor to achieving the corporate strategic vision. Maxx is a member of the International Association of Airport Executives Canada (IAAE Canada); and a founding member of the Canadian Society for Quality (CSQ). His expertise in management and leadership in business and academic settings have made him widely

recognised as a highly effective administrator and excellent leader. Throughout his career he has developed an extensive and proficient knowledge of business process management, administration, leadership, marketing, business networking, customer service and satisfaction principles.

Olivier Meyer, Manager, Programs & Projects , NAV Canada. Olivier Meier is a certified PMP who works as a Project Manager in the AIS department at NAV CANADA, the Canadian Air Navigation Service Provider. His current responsibility is the ICAO NOTAM/SNOWTAM transition in CANADA. He is trained as an Air Traffic Controller and holds a degree in Software Engineering and IT Project Management. Prior to his arrival in Canada 5 years ago he worked for Skyguide, the Swiss Air Navigation Service Provider. His last position held was Project Portfolio Manager for the AIM department. Upon his arrival in Canada Olivier Meier initially worked as a Project Manager for the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Montreal, where his main responsibilities were three main Industry Cost Reduction Projects. He specializes in complex projects with extensive external stakeholder involvement where he can apply his excellent communication, leadership and

change management skills. He is fluent in German, English and French. Currently Olivier Meier resides in Montreal with his wife and his two kids.

Len Taylor, President, Tradewind Scientific Ltd. Educated in the U.K., the U.S. and Canada, Mr. Taylor completed his Honours B.Sc. at Trent University and post-graduate M.Sc. and B.Ed. degrees at Queen’s University. He is a registered Chartered Chemist in the Province of Ontario. Following an initial career in teaching, Mr. Taylor joined the Department of Transport as a technical project manager in 1977. Since 1980, he has been a Principal of Tradewind Scientific Ltd., a company that is focused on the provision of specialized technical testing services and products to airports worldwide. In this capacity, Mr. Taylor has been responsible for the management of airport runway friction and roughness testing programs using state-of-the-art equipment for more than thirty years. Mr. Taylor is an active participant in a number of international committees and forums concerning airfield surface condition monitoring and the harmonization of ICAO runway friction

measurement and SNOWTAM reporting processes. Recent major projects include the implementation of a nation-wide network of TRACR II winter reporting systems at some 50 Norwegian civil & military airports. Mr. Taylor manages an ongoing innovative research and development program within Tradewind Scientific directed at improving airfield surface condition monitoring, friction measurement and airport inspection and reporting technologies.

Tiina Maripuu, Manager, Software Development, Team Eagle Ltd. Tiina Maripuu has worked in the software industry since 1997. For five years (2005 – 2010), she was a business engineer working with complex treasury management applications in Wallstreet Systems, headquartered in New York. Her main roles were consulting, training, testing and supporting large global clients (banks, governments and corporations) in Canada, US as well as Europe. Her expertize helped in maintaining a quality of the software application as well as maintaining good client relationships. In 2011 Tiina was contracted as a software implementation consultant by a UK based company and hired by Team Eagle in September 2011. As a software development manager, Tiina is working with the developers and project managers to implement and improve internal processes as well as coordinate resources, manage integration projects and provide layer of quality assurance.

Kymm Girgulis, Key Account Manager, BC Hydro. Kymm Girgulis is a Key Account Manager with BC Hydro’s Industrial Sector. With years managing the relationship between BC Hydro and customers in the transportation and manufacturing sector, Kymm knows her way around the airport business. As part of her work, Kymm assists customers in identifying energy savings opportunities and working with them to implement projects and develop long term strategies for energy management. Having worked closely with the two largest airports in the province, Kymm will share her experience and insight as to why energy makes for smart business

Nancy Majoulian, Director, ADB Airfield Solutions, Nancy Majoulian is ADB’s National Sales Manager for Canada. She brings over 15 years of combined experience within Canada and the United States having dealt with several Fortune 500 companies. Nancy brings 8 years of Aviation experience from Bombardier Business Aircraft where she contributed to the widebody Global and Challenger Aircraft programs in various Leadership roles: Methods, Change Management, International Contracts and US Sales. She has completed her pilot ground school and has a couple of flight hours under her belt. Nancy is fluent in English and French with a Business & Communications degree from Ahuntsic College and Concordia University out of Montréal, Québec. Nancy part takes in several conferences across North America to further expand her skills and knowledge. In 2011, she was elected as one of the Directors on the Canadian Airports National

Electrical Workshop board.

Eric Cantin, Director, Airport Sector, BPR, A Tetra Tech Company. With a degree in electrical engineering from l'Université de Sherbrooke, Mr. Cantin has been involved in every facet of a project throughout his career. He has acted as designer, estimator, technical specialist, work supervisor and head of service. He worked eight years for a major airport authority in Montréal. As a project manager or director, several of his mandates required him to mobilize multi-disciplinary teams in order to bring to fruition projects pertaining to electrical infrastructures of various natures (modifications to building and transport systems, among others). Mr. Cantin has carried out this type of mandate for major clients such as the MTQ, CATSA, National Defence, Nav Canada, as well as Aéroports de Montréal, Noranda CCR, McGill University, etc. In addition to his technical responsibilities, he has also been in charge of various administrative tasks. Since

2009, he has been in charge of the airport sector for BPR. The scope of his responsibilities includes modifications to building electrical systems as well as runway lighting. Wholeheartedly dedicated to his field, Mr. Cantin participates on various committees and in seminars with the goal of furthering his knowledge and improving his practices.

Rob Benyon, Vice President, Planning & Development Economics, InterVISTAS Consulting Inc. Rob works with communities and organizations to help develop their goals and plans into realities, including airport planning. Recent airport planning work includes Victoria’s master plan and examination of a green field opportunity in Ukraine, as well as work at smaller Canadian sites. The range of projects runs from helping to define organizational visions and goals via strategic plans to overseeing detailed planning studies for commercial developments. His focus has been on the connection between economic feasibility and planning for projects such as the expansion of Port Prince Rupert and its $3 billion capital plan. His experience has included work with small through large communities, and in rural and urban areas. Examples of work have included feasibility studies, economic cluster analysis, strategic plans, P3 infrastructure proposals, business

plans, commercial development plans, and land use plans. Rob has over 20 years experience as a consultant, and has worked extensively on projects in Canada, the U.S., and Australia.

Raymond Gee, Research Director , TNS—Global. Raymond is a Research Director in the Van-couver office of TNS Canadian Facts. Raymond has extensive experience in stakeholder man-agement research including corporate reputation measurements. In his 11 years with TNS, he has become an expert in the telecommunications, financial, and transportation industries and in public sector research. Raymond has a wealth of experience helping clients strengthen their brand and relationships with customers. His responsibilities at TNS include research design and analysis of research results. Raymond currently oversees several large, complex research track-ing programs. These programs involve several sample populations and multiple data collection methodologies. Raymond holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University with concentrations in Marketing and Management and Organization Studies. Ray-

mond is a member of the MRIA and a former board member of the Vancouver Chapter. He has been a conference pre-senter on stakeholder management research and has been quoted a number of times in business publications such as Business in Vancouver.

Murray Ames, Campbell River Airport Electrician, CAEA Sub-Committee Chair, CAEA Di-rector / Treasurer. Journeyman electrician for over 30 years with a Class “A” High Voltage li-cense for BC. Started trade in Alberta in construction and maintenance, then 10 years with Shell Canada Resources at a Gas Plant in southern Alberta. 3 years in Pulp and Paper at Gold River Mill on Vancouver Island. 20 years with Campbell River Airport as Airport Electrician as well as Airport Fire Fighter and all other airport duties. Member of the Canadian Airports Electrical Asso-siation since its start in 1999. Currently a CAEA Director and Treasurer and Chairman of the CAEA Sub-Committee on Airport electrical and safety.

Bill Yearwood, Investigator-in-Charge, Transportation Safety Board of Canada. Is the Pacific Regional Manager of Aviation for the Transportation Safety Board of Canada; he started flying fixed-wing aircraft at age 13 on a sugar estate in South America, but evolved to fly rotary-wing air-craft for industry; Operations included: Heli-logging, Med-evac, Corporate, Arctic and Off-shore explorations, Flight training, and Design change flight testing; After a stint for Transport Canada, where he was an Air Carrier inspector, he helped draft the CARs, and managed System Safety; he joined the TSB in 1999, and is the investigator in charge of the recent accident at CYVR; Bill lives in Vancouver, and has given up motor racing for bicycle racing.

Brian Day, Barrister & Solicitor , Airport Law. Mr. Day commenced his legal practice with the federal Department of Justice in 1978, which included advising Transport Canada. From 1981 until 1992 Mr. Day was in private practice in the areas of civil litigation, criminal law, employment, administrative and commercial law, and all aspects of aviation law including as legal agent to Transport Canada on aeronautics and airports including YVR. Brian Day was legal counsel for Vancouver International Airport Authority from 1992 until 2003, responsible for legal services, revenue contract administration, and risk management and insurance. Mr. Day was Chair of the Canadian Airports Council (CAC) Legal Committee (1998-2003) whose members advise Cana-da's major international airports. He was also Chair of the CAC Risk Managers and Insurance Committee (2000-2002). Since 2003, Brian Day has provided business and regulatory solutions

About IAAE Canada

IAAE Canada's primary goal is to assist airport executives in fulfilling their responsibilities to the airports and

communities they serve, by personal development and training.

Different levels of membership at IAAE Canada are obtainable to coincide with your goal to enhance your

professional development in the airport industry.

In 1994 IAAE Canada was formed in the interest of serving Canadian Airport Managers and personnel. It grew so well

that in 2000 we incorporated as the International Association of Airport Executives Canada (IAAE Canada) and still

continue to grow to this day. Membership in IAAE Canada is for individuals not airports and it places equal emphasis

on the employees and operators of large and small airport concerns, reflecting a membership comprised of executives

from large and medium size airports, as well as hundreds of managers from smaller airports used by general and

commercial aviation.

IAAE Canada is proud to offer its premier credential the Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) "The Mark of an

Airport Professional". The value of the A.A.E. mark is the public, the airport industry and the candidate knowing that

only those who have proven a high level of knowledge, managerial skill, discipline and professionalism are awarded the

Accredited Airport Executive designation.
