Key ConsiderationsAdequate Human Resources
are of vigorous importance for all nuclear facilities
and nuclear activities; at all life cycle phases.Reliable supply of competent workforce
-
one of the biggest challenges for the
entire nuclear field. Integrated and comprehensive approach is needed.IAEA provides assistance
in the development of all aspects of HR, education
and training for nuclear field, including building capacity in the countries, assisting in establishment of Education & Training national and regional systems, and helping in achievement of self-sustainability.Examples of opportunities for further cooperation:
E & T on Nuclear Safety and SecurityE & T for the new builds / newcomers, within building of
Infrastructure
Joint / shared Information ResourcesInternational forum / community of practice
on e-learning, simulators and
advanced training toolsBenchmarking
(E&T Systems), support in Self-Evaluation
Joint development of good practices documents
IAEA
Purpose & mission:
ETSG provides in-house coordination and advice on activities supporting E & T delivered by the Agency to Member States with a view to helping to optimize resources, continuously improving effectiveness and avoiding duplication with respect to relevant IAEA programmes.

ETGS Policy Principles
Common methods for curriculum development, standardized syllabi and training material will be utilized to ensure training programmes are harmonized and of a consistently high quality.Provide tools to needs analysis, planning and implementation. A repository of education and training information and material will be established, maintained and made accessible to and used by all stakeholders through knowledge networks.
IAEA
Policy Principles (cont’d)
The promotion of training/learning tools and methodologies will be further consolidated and then disseminated to Member States to enable them to establish capabilities for E&T at their own pace and convenience.
Recognition of regional education and training centres/institutions, capable of providing state-of-the-art E&T in specific nuclear and radiation fields of high priority to the region, will be promoted.
