guest speaker United States Consul Diane Kelly, along with Dr. Jubran, Mrs. Manning and Mrs. Pearson highlighted IAU's half-century long commitment to expanding the horizons of US undergraduates, and the importance of this milestone in strengthening the present and future of IAU in the realm of international education. It is a proud moment for all members of the IAU family. Finishing touches to the restoration and renovation remain to be completed throughout the summer. The furnishings are in place with state of the art material, and the staff readies for the Fall 2013 semester students who will be the first class to enjoy our magnificent Manning Hall.

In the Chapelle des Pénitents Bleus, 2bis rue du Bon

Pasteur, the Denise Malrieu Student Lounge has been named thanks to a generous gift by Dr. Beverly C. Walters, '65 and her husband Dr. George B. Buzcko. Madame Malrieu served as general ombudsman for students through the 1960's, and her traits included vivacity and a friendly smile. The La Cigale of 1964 dedication reads: "For her unending patience and understanding of the many adjustments and problems of American students abroad, we dedicate this edition of La Cigale to her." IAU gratefully acknowledges this gift given as a tribute to Madame Malrieu by just one of the many students whose lives she made better for being part of IAU.

Support IAU

Whatever the common denominator may be for

all of the IAU programs over the more-than-half century since IAU was founded--Aix, Avignon, Marchutz, Canterbury, Toulon, CAC--it provides us all with a wonderful community. We want to make sure we preserve that community and our own IAU memories and benefits to keep them alive for ourselves, but also so the discovery and growth we knew can be shared with generations to come. We can do that by staying connected with each other and by continuing to support IAU.

Giving to IAU is easy. If you have not already

done so, you can make an on-line gift by clicking on Donate on the IAU website where you can scroll down and select the giving option of your

choice. At the very bottom of that page, you will find IAU'sAutomated Monthly Donation option through which you may join the growing number of IAU alumni who have chosen this method of regular giving to IAU. Regardless of whether your gift is one time, annually, or monthly--and regardless of the amount--every contribution is equally filled with meaning.

The Mont Sainte Victoire Legacy Society honors

donors who wish to include IAU in their estate planning. Please see the Donating to IAU rubric on the IAU website for more information.

IAU has also established the IAU Honor Roll of

Donors which recognizes donors who have contributed generous gifts of $25,000 or more. The list already includes numerous alumni and friends and is growing fast. The names of these donors will appear on plaques installed in the entry way of Manning Hall.

A donation of $1,000 to the Building Fund entitles

the donor to a symbolic building brick engraved with his or her name or the name of a person whom they wish to commemorate. Each brick will be installed in the inner courtyard of Manning Hall, becoming a wall of permanent testimony to the widespread and varied support for IAU.
