The IBM Master the Mainframe contest is an exciting opportunity for students to gain real-world experience using enterprise computing skills. Hosted at colleges and universities all over the world, this computing contest is designed to challenge student skills in a hands-on coding experience with programming languages like Java as well as Linux
To compete in the Master the Mainframe contest, no experience with mainframes is necessary.
Participation in Master the Mainframe contests could give students the career edge they need. The top banks, governments, aviation, utilities and energy business in Middle East & Africa run IBM Mainframe!

Master the Mainframe – How it works!
Part one: Breaking the iceIBM will provide contestants with screenshots and directions on what to do. This helps acquaint each contestant with navigating the mainframe user interface and introduce basic mainframe concepts
Part two: Practical experiencePerform programming (advanced commands, system setup, and advanced system navigation) and application developing tasks, as well as experience with multiple operating systems
Part three: Real-world challengeTasks from this stage are taken from real life situations encountered by systems programmers

Time:1-2 Hours
Prizes:The first 150 students in each region to achieve 100% will receive a backpack.
Time:10-20 Hours
Contest is self paced! You can participate in one, two or all three stages and win exciting prizes after each stage!
Prizes:The first 10 students in each region to achieve 100% will receive a Bluetooth speaker, Bluetooth headset, power bank and flash drive
Prizes:- Top 3 students in each region: Smart Phones- Top 2 students in each region: All expense paid trip to Dubai to attend winners event (Sept 2015)- Featured in WW MTM Wall of Fame- Participate in WW Championship in 2016 (Details to follow!)
