Why is it important to make
decisions?
What is a decision? A choice you make between two or more
possibilities.
What kinds of decisions do you make everyday?
IBRAIN • We use the acronym IBRAIN to help us
remember the different steps to the decision making process.

I = IDENTIFY • What is the decision you need to make?
• Ms. Oney’s Example: Which college to go to?

B=BRAINSTORM • What are your options? What are all the
possible choices?
• Ms. Oney’s Example: U of U, UVU, Snow, BYU, SUU, Utah State, Dixie

R=RESEARCH • Find out what you can about your choices.
Eliminate a few.
• Ms. Oney’s Example: – BYU-No interest
– U of U, UVU: Not exact program
– Snow College and Dixie-Only two year programs (would have to transfer)

A=ANALYZE • List Pros and Cons of remaining choices
• Ms. Oney’s Example: – SUU: close to home, but more expensive
– USU: far from home but commuter school and great program

I=IMPLEMENT • Make your decision and stick to it!

N=NOW EVALUATE • After some time, was the decision good
or bad?

• SUU closed program, USU has 100% placement and top 10 education program in US,

what you would like to accomplish by the end of the game.
• During the game, keep track of everything that happens to you during the game.
• At the end, make sure you write down your totals.
