TRAINING PROGRAMME ON COMMERCIAL CULTIVATION OF FLOWER
CROPS UNDER SCSP HELD AT VADAJ, TAL-JUNNAR, DIST PUNE ON JUNE 29,
2019
ICAR-DFR organised one day SCSP training programme on “Commercial Cultivation of
Flower Crops Under SCSP” for the benefit of SC farmers from villages viz., Nirgude,
Dindore Dhamnkhel, Junnar, Vadaj, Aaskhed, Kusur, Parude Shiroli, kurkundi, Katede. 80
farmers from different villages participated in the training. Training was imparted on various
aspects of flower cultivation like recent techniques of commercial flower cultivation, crop
protection, importance of healthy planting material, tissue culture, soil health management
and nutrition of flower crops. The event was organised at Community Hall, Vadaj, Tal-
Junner, Dist-Pune. Total 06 lectures were delivered during the training by Dr KV Prasad,
Director, ICAR-DFR, Dr Prashant Kawar, Dr Tarak Nath Saha, Dr Prabha, Dr Ganesh B.
Kadam and Dr Shilparshree, Scientists, ICAR-DFR, Pune. To encourage and support the
cultivation of flower crops farm inputs like sprayer (80no.), NPK fertilizers (80 bags each),
Drip lateral (30 rolls), Mulch sheet (80 nos), marigold planting material was distributed to SC
farmers. For the training sarpanch from MGMG adopted villages (Kusur and Vadaj) were
present and thanked ICAR-DFR for organising SCSP programme in their villages.
