- ArcGis is the mapping system for our ice charts

- Ice chart program consists of different shape-files: IceArea, IceSymbol, Cities, Lighthouses, Borderline

- Ice charts are produced on the basis of satellite images (if available), ice observations from coastal stations, ferries and vessels, ice reports and ice charts from Baltic Sea Ice Services

- Satellite images and some graphics can be loaded in the ArcGis working level directly

- Diverse graphic formats can be produced - *.emf, *.eps, *.pdf, *.svg, *.bmp, *.jpg, *.png, *.tif, *.gif

- Information contained in the ice charts can be derived as SIGRID format

- Any sections of the Baltic area can be extracted from the charts drawn in ArcGis mapping system
