You’ve heard it on Girls, The Vampire Diaries, the radio, as well as in clubs and even a Samsung ad, but while Icona Pop is synonymous with its most massive track I Love It, we think the Swedish pop duo is far from being a one-hit wonder!

The song is an ode to female friendships, also the birth of the unit. One fateful night in 2009, a heartbroken Aino was dragged to a party hosted by Caroline where they met and instantly bonded, allowing relationship angst to fuel their love for and artistry in music. “I get happy when people say we have girl power. In the music industry, where there are a lot of guys, we’ve been in many ‘just because we’re girls’ situations. That gave us a little bit more than we wanted to show people,” Caroline said.

This year, Icona Pop plays supporting acts to Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus on their world tours. Rock on, sisters!
