Abstract

Provide an informative abstract of the paper here. Maximum 350 words covering: a statement of the purpose of your study / issue/s addressed and why important; a brief description of the research methods/methodology used; the main results observed / discussed; and the main conclusions drawn from your study that will be of interest to the reader.

1. First main heading here (and use style and numbering for subsequent main headings)

1.1 First subheading here (and use style and numbering for subsequent subheadings)

Start main text for paper here using “normal” style (and use for subsequent main text).

Where referencing use author / date approach, such as the Harvard system or similar as in following example.

Maidment and Trotter (1967) define resilience from the perspective of risk as, “the capacity to foresee …” (pp23-24). If using tables refer to them in the main text, use “table heading” style for the heading and base general style on example.

Example Table 1: A summary of the types of disaster in Europe 1990-99

Region

Type

Eastern

Europe

Western

Europe

Northern

Europe

Southern

Europe

Total

Drought 3 1 2 7 13

Earthquake 8 4 1 18 31

Epidemic 12 2 - 1 15

Total 201 142 71 142 556

If using figures refer to them in the main text and keep reasonably simple, using black and white or grey scale, but not colour. Paste in as picture and use “figure heading” style for heading under figure as in example below in blue – you should use “automatic” font colour.

Example Figure 1: Strategy into practice (Mintzberg and Waters, 1985)
