    WELCOME MESSAGE

Following the success of the First, Second and Third International Conferences on StructuralStability and Dynamics held in 2000 (Taipei), 2002 (Singapore), 2005 (Orlando, USA), this fourthConference continues to provide an international forum for presentation of recent advances onvarious aspects of theories, analyses, experiments and designs related to structural stability anddynamics. In particular, it will reflect the state-of-the-art of the computational methods, softwaredevelopment, networking technologies, new and advanced structural materials and engineeringapplications characterized by stability and dynamics features.

We are so pleased to see that the conference has attracted so many participants from so manyinstitutions and from 15 countries. There are about 100 papers that will be presented in theconference. The papers cover a broad range of topics that include structural dynamics, structural stability, computational and experimental methods, inverse problems, smartmaterials and structures, earthquake engineering, and nano & bio mechanics. Selected papers

from those presented at the conference will be invited to be peer-reviewed for publication inInternational Journal of Structural Stability & Dynamics, Mechanics of Advanced Materials andStructures, and International Journal of Computational Methods in Engineering Science andMechanics. We sincerely hope that you will find the conference fruitful and as enjoyable as it promises to be,and that you will take back with you valuable insights on the topics covered at this conference aswell as fond memories of these three days in the company of fellow researchers and engineers.

We are very delighted to see you here and we thank you all for your support and participation.
