1. Introduction
While the academy prepares the students for obtaining relevant knowledge, building on
practical experience is an important aspect where the classroom teaching often falls short. In
the modern-day scenario, most organizations work on a project based model and are often
looking for fresh minds to support them in critical situations. However, there is a lack of
matching in the organizational needs with the students’ desire to work in a practical scenario.
Therefore, we look forward to developing a website which can bring together both sides which
are ready and willing to collaborate.
2. Description
To bring the students and corporates together, we aim to develop a website with the help of
sponsorship from the corporate world. The single most important objective of this website
would be to allow the corporate to post about the various opportunities for students on a
temporary basis. At the same time, the students would be able to view these opportunities and
express their interest in working on the requirements as listed by the corporates. These aspects
would provide a direct interface between the corporates and the students. To ensure that only
applicable candidates are able to view and apply for the opportunities, the access to the website
shall be restricted to university campus.
3. Project Client
3.1. The Reinvention Network (ABN 92 091 895 564)
Founded by Dr. Ron Beckett in 2000, ‘The Reinvention Network’ operates at the
industry/academia interface; supporting and encouraging consulting and research projects
and aiding towards growth and sustainability of firms and not-for-profit organizations to
adapt in the rapid changing environment. Focused primarily on taking direct consultation
2
projects, the reinvention network’s primary profile frequently had enterprise and university
partner involvement. (The Reinvention Network, n.d.)
4. Product Features
To achieve the objectives, the website shall have the following features:
4.1.Template for student applications
The students would be able to apply for the opportunities in the format specified on the website.
This shall be done to ensure a consistent format for all the applications, resulting into ease of
review for the corporates.
4.2.Secure Access through university campuses
The website shall be accessible through university campuses only. This shall ensure that only
students within the university are applying for the relevant roles.
4.3.Linking with the university database
To ensure that authentic student applications are received, the registration number of the
student shall be verified with the university database.
4.4.Roles based on student courses
The corporate organization which is posting the role shall have the option to restrict the
student’s application based on the course in which the student is enrolled. The restriction can
be automated by linking the student id with the university’s database.
4.5.Updates to application
The action taken by the corporate representative shall be updated on the portal for each
student’s application. This shall make it clear to the students as to whether their application is
under consideration.

5. Project Rationale
The key points relating to rationale for this project are listed below:
A) To enable collaboration between the students and the corporates to carry out projects
B) To ensure a direct interface between the corporates and the students
C) To provide a template based approach in order to reduce turnaround time for
scrutinizing student’s applications
6. Literature Review
This project aims to build a bridge between the students who are looking to train themselves in
the practical environment and the corporates who are looking forward to hiring the students
who cans serve specific project needs. This temporary project based hiring, which is typically
an internship also opens the door for future hiring of the students. The effective internship
program is beneficial for both students and corporates as it provides a practical experience of
working in the professional environment for both the sides (Harrison, 2017).At the same time,
the student who pass out of university lack certain skill gaps which may be technical or soft
skills for adapting to the corporate environment. The internship program also provides for
bridging the much-needed skill gaps in the university students (Cappelli, 2015).

8. Expected Outcomes
Based on our project, we expect the following outcomes:
A) An interactive method for the corporates to post their temporary project based
requirements or inform the students about their internship programs
B) Students should be able to review the available projects and apply for working on
corporate projects based on their class schedules and course requirements
C) The students would be able to get a chance to work in the corporate environment during
their study period
D) Corporate organizations get an opportunity to review the students’ skills, attitude and
potential for performing as a part of the company

9. Evaluation Strategies
The project has a focused objective to build a platform between the students and the corporate
organizations. To evaluate whether our objective has been successful, we can look at the
following parameters:
A) Before the project execution commences, we shall look at the organizations for
sponsorship. The interest of organizations shall prove as a validation point that the
project concept is successful
B) Once we are satisfied that the companies are happy to provide us with monetary
resources, we can also take this as their interest in associating with the platform
C) Upon the completion of the project, we shall evaluate the number of corporate and their
job postings on the portal to measure the success from the corporate side
D) For the students, the number of opportunities converted shall serve as an important
yardstick for measuring the success of the platform
