Overview

2. SALOHI-GIS : Global Objectives G.I.S

Facilitate the global comprehension of the SALOHI Program and the decision-making process by graphically representing the intervention zones, levels of results obtained, and the intervention’s impact.

Where are the intervention sites ?

What activities have been realized by the Program?

Where were the activities implemented ?

Where has the program done more ? Where has it done less?

How have the activities and/or achieved results evolved over time?

2. SALOHI-GIS : Specific Objectives G.I.S

Make available a map database (boundaries of Regions, Districts, and Communes)

Make available a structured statistical database containing data related to Program results across Regions, Districts, Communes, and Fokontany (Community)

Produce thematic maps showing Program results, their geographic location, and the linkages between them to facilitate the process of drawing conclusions and decision

2. SALOHI-GIS : Thematic Map G.I.S

• FKT: Community• FKT –GRC : Community with DRR

Committees• FKT-DPMP : Community with DPMP• FKT-SAP : Community Based Early

Warning• FKT-FFA : Community with Food

Distribution

(Community with Food For Asset – Road Rehabilitation –Community with DPMP)

3. SALOHI–Dashboard : Global Objectives Dashboard

The dashboard aids members of the technical team to:

Understand the trimestral evolution of obtained results according to key indicators

Identify and capitalize best practices based on high rates of success over the course of a determined time period

Identify and analyze the constraints or obstacles to achieving certain results

Reflect on the future actions to be taken to improve results

3. SALOHI–Dashboard : Key elements Dashboard

Monitoring of the implementation of activities: Completion rates of planned activities

Monitoring of immediate results: Success rates of results by key indicators

Monitoring of financial performance: Rates of financial performance by SALOHI budget category

3. SALOHI–Dashboard : Process of updating Dashboard

Monitoring of the implementation of activities: Using reports and DIPs from partners

Monitoring of immediate results: Quarterly synthesis of data according to the key indicators

Monitoring of financial performance: Quarterly operating data on financial performance

Frequency: quarterly

Sources of data:

– Partner DIPs– Partner activity

reports– SALOHI database– Quarterly financial

reports

3. SALOHI–Dashboard : Example Dashboard

• Monitoring of the completion of activities - Monitoring of financial performance by budget category – by budget activities

ANALYSIS AND DECISION MAKING

What are the success factors for the implementation of timely activities?

What are the constraints causing the late implementation of activities?

What are the lessons learned in respect to the schedule?

What are the constraints and obstacles causing poor results?

What are the improvements to be made?

3. SALOHI–Dashboard : Reflections Dashboard

(Strengths - Weaknesses• The information necessary for the Teams will be

analyzed and indentifies• A combination of geographic of statistics and

qualitative information on the dynamics of activities for each SALOHI component

• A new tool for decision support to guide action.• A pair of glasses to give a common overview of the

simple or the complex problems faced by staff during the implementation activities as well as to give off their strengths, weaknesses and prospects for action.

• The Dashboard implemented at M&E Team permit to give the information and the program’s progress for the Direction Team and the Manger Team so they can make a better decision for their management.

• Quarterly dissemination of SALOHI partner performance.

• Data Update irregular• Data not collected on

time• Data circuit system

not respected• Ineffective use of

dashboard for some technical staff

3. SALOHI–Dashboard : Reflections Dashboard

(Opportunities) – (Lessons/Recommendations) –(Challenge)

• The dashboard is used by SALOHI as a communication tool for results restitution during the regional Town Hall Meeting – Communal and community Town Hall Meeting

• Existence of the SALOHI DataBase to produce data for Key Indicators

• The implementation dashboard system was must a participatory approach with technical staff, the partner Staff during the processes, the data entry and the data analysis

• Use dashboards for decision making

• Promote to use the ICT4D solutions for the Data collection• Promote the use of M&E data for the program management
