ICT Industry SurveyObjectives -To understand current state of the ICT industry in Sri Lanka and to understand the

opinion of ICT industrialists about the future of the ICT industry in Sri Lanka.

-Survey will renew and extend the 2002-Sri Lanka ICT sector survey.

Methodology -Stratified random sampling methods, A formal questionnaire is used.

-Face to face interviews with industry representatives,

In addition to the survey questionnaire, sewries of Key Informant Interviews (KII) will be conducted . KII will be used to gather opinions.

Target Audience -Contemplate the ICT industry, telecoms, telephony, BPO sector and the internet, the regulatory/policy environment, national initiatives (incl. eSri-Lanka, studies in the health sector and education sector, as well as others), computer sciences research & development, major players in the ICT industry including companies listed on the stock exchange and public sector entities.

Need Information -Geographical distribution of ICT businesses, size of the business, ICT business by industry segments, Target markets, SME activities and e commerce activities, competitiveness of private sector ICT companies, and trends and analysis of selected NRI indicators. Besides, the survey will also cover the following areas: training needs of the employees, perceptions/attitudes of the employees on the emergence and development of ICT enabled businesses, infrastructure/resources needed to further expand the businesses and constraints faced by the industry.

enterprises, which has been applied in twenty or more countries already.
