MaterialsFolder: to keep your hand-outs together and organized.

Notebook: A5 or A4 sized lined paper - no loose paper

Writing Utensils: Pens, Pencils and Erasers.

Dictionary: English-Korean Korean-English.

M ake sure that the front of the classroom is CLEAN AND TIDY before the class starts .

Your grade for this semester is split into four parts

Attendance 20% Excused from class only for death in the family or

military service

Participation 20% If you do not speak at all in class you will score 0%. If

you do not complete homework, use your cellphone,

are rude or do not bring the correct books and

materials to class, I will deduct points from your final

grade.

Mid-ter m test 30% Follow instructions carefully, try your best and don’t be

late for the test.

Attendance 출석 : 20 점

1. If you are 1-14 minutes late you will be marked LATE (-1%).

2. If you are 15 or more minutes late then you will be marked ABSENT (-2%).

3. 2 lates = 1 ABSENCE.

4. 1 absence = -2%.

5. 6 absences = “F” This is automatic. Excused absences will only be given for death in

the family or military service. Sickness does not count. No doctor’s notes please!

6. When you are absent for any reason you must contact your partner and find out about

the classwork and homework, catch up before our next class, and be prepared for

anything happening in the future.

Participation 수업태도 : 20 점

1. Your participation grade starts at 0% - IT IS YOUR JOB TO GET THIS UP 20%. IF YOU

DO NOT SPEAK AT ALL – I WILL GIVE YOU 0%

2. Do all assignments and homework. Failure to do so will lead to ‘-2’ participation points,

E.g. No homework x1 = 18%, no homework x2 = 16%. Every time you complete your

homework you will be given ‘+1’ towards your participation grade.

M id-term test 과제물 : 30 점 You will have a mid-term test that will be worth 30% of your total grade.

The mid-term will take place in Week 8 and will be based on everything we have studied

in class from Week 1-7.

Final test 과제물 : 30 점 You will have a final test that will be worth 30% of your total grade.

The final will take place in Week 16 and will be based on everything we have studied in

class from Week 1-15.

Classroom Etiquette 강의실 에티켓 .1. No gum or food in class.

2. NO CELLPHONES! If I see a cellphone, it is an automatic ‘-2’ towards your grade (you will

be asked to leave the class).

3. Respect others. Please be quiet when the teacher or another student is speaking.
