Team Notesu The Vandals are approaching their 500th all-time victory. Idaho has 491 wins entering the 2010-11 season.

u With Idaho’s 75-63 victory over New Mexico State in the quarterfinals of the Western Athletic Conference tournament, the 2009-10 Vandals became the first Idaho basketball team, men or women, to advance to the WAC semi-finals. Idaho has been a member of the WAC since the 2005-06 season.

u Despite starting the season with a 1-11 overall record, the Vandals finished .500 in WAC play with an 8-8 conference record, and eliminiated NMSU to advance to the WAC semi-finals.

u Senior guard Rachele Kloke was named second-team all-WAC after leading the Vandals with 14.5 points per game in 2009-10. Junior Yinka Olorunnife was named to the WAC all-tournament team after averaging 23 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2 steals and 1.5 assists in Idaho’s two games. The Vandals have had at least one all-conference player every year since joining the Mountain West Athletic Conference in 1982-83.

u Idaho was picked to finish fourth in both the preseason media and coaches WAC polls, and the Vandals fulfilled that prediction, earning the No. 4 seed in the WAC tournament and advancing to the WAC semi-finals.

u Junior guard Shaena Kuehu has only played in 59 games in her Idaho career, but she briefly cracked the top-10 list for career 3-point field goals made. Kuehu has nailed 76 long-range shots during her career including 35 in 2009-10, and was in 10th all-time at Idaho until teammate Charlotte Otero passed her and finished with 78 for her career. Kuehu needs six more to overtake Rikki Jackson (1998-2000) for ninth all-time. The school record for career 3-pointers made is 207 set by Kelli Johnson (1994-98).

u Senior guard Rachele Kloke busted out with 26 points in Idaho’s regular season finale, and scored her 750th career point in that game. Kloke led the team in 2009-10 with 14.5 points per game, and finished the season with 778 for her career.

u Senior Yinka Olorunnife led the Vandals in rebounding with 7.9 boards per game in 2009-10, and also averaged 11.4 points per game. Her 928 career points and 741 career rebounds are the most of any active Vandal. Olorunnife ranks fifth in all-time rebounds at Idaho, behind Dana Fish (778 rebounds), Mary Raese

(784), Denise Brose (959) and Alli Nieman (1,005).u Yinka Olorunnife finished the 2009-10 season in 7th all-time at Idaho with 74 career blocked shots. She swatted 20 in 2009-10 and needs nine more to overtake Kortnie Edwards (1989-93) for sixth all-time. The Idaho career record for blocked shots is 306 set by Mary Raese (1982-86).

u Senior Rachele Kloke earned her first career Verizon Wireless WAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor after the week of Feb. 22-28. Kloke averaged 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game in leading Idaho to wins over San Jose State and Utah State. Included in her weekend was a 28-point outburst against USU, in which she knocked down a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from NBA range to give Idaho the win.

u The Vandals set a new school record for 3-pointers made in a season in 2009-10 with 216. Idaho smashed the previous school record of 203 set back in 2004-05. The Vandals ranked second in the WAC as only Fresno State hit more long-range shots than Idaho. Idaho hit 30.6 percent of its 3-point attempts on the season.

u In her first season as Vandal, Bianca Cheever hit a team-high 54 3-pointers, converting on 31.6 percent of her attempts. Her 54 makes are the 10th most in a single season in Vandal history. The school record is 76 held by Susan Wulf since the 1998-99 season.

u The Vandals signed five players to join the team for the 2010-11 season, and four of the signees are over 6-feet tall. Junior College transfer Adrie Shiels (Canberra, Austrailia/Midland College) stands at 6-1, while incoming freshmen Kelsey Bybee (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho/Coeur d’Alene HS), Alyssa Charlston (Sammimish, Wash./Eastlake HS) and Ashley Walters (Wilsonville Ore./Wilsonville HS) check in at 6-3, 6-1, and 6-4 respectively. Junior College transfer Ganeaya Rogers (Milpitas, Calif./Ohlone JC) is the only signee under 6-feet, measuring 5-foot-8.

u The 2010-11 Vandals will return four out of five starters from the 2009-10 team, as well as 2008-09 WAC Newcomer of the Year, Derisa Taleni, who sat out the 2009-10 season after suffering a season-ending knee injury during fall camp. Idaho will also return 10.6 points per game off of its bench from 2009-10 in Emily Doran (2.3 ppg), Jessica Graham (5.8 ppg) and Natasha Helsham (2.5 ppg).
