We make the effort - the rest just clicks into place
Our teachers were recognised by Elizabeth Truss for increasing the standard of teaching in the East Anglia area.
Elizabeth Truss MP
After meeting with Elizabeth we were glad that she is on board to support the iday to help raise standards in core subject areas.
The event that should be on every
school’s calender
The smart way to recruit
Some of the great press coverage iday has received
“Could have hired them all. It has been a long
day but the use of time has been fruitful. I have
seen a good number of high quality candidates.
The most important thing is we have got some
good quality candidates that came from both
Ireland and England. Quality of teachers are
definitely appointable. When I compare the
level of teachers here today to that of the TES…
80% would be interviewable candidates that
would show up and represent themselves well
on paper. Barry the consultant is very good. He
is very flexible. I changed the circumstances on
the day and he was able to accommodate that
very promptly and he paces me very well. Barry
scores very well today.”
Oasis Academy, Paul Hammond, Principal
“We think the matching up of teaches to subject has been done really really well and professionally. It is a really good idea to get everybody together knowing everybody wants a job, just like for the schools, every ones knows that every school here is keen to recruit. It is the first time we have been to an iday and is a different way to recruit. From a strategy point of view iday is useful in having it as an addition to what we currently do. We would absolutely recommend iday to other schools looking to recruit. Alex was top- notch too.”
Farlingaye High, Cathy Laird, Assistant Head
“I found iday a well organised and well structured
event and the candidates that have been
presented to me have been of high quality. I think
it is a different way of recruiting staff and think it
is a very useful way of seeing a number of teaches
in one go in a way that does not disrupt a school
day. I have been very impressed with the quality
of teachers I have seen today. In terms of the
standard of teaching, it is great. Barry has been
very good with talking to me very regularly and
the pre-work has been very necessary. I would
certainly recommend iday to schools recruiting
for multiple vacancies. Next time I would bring
someone with me.”
North Oxfordshire Academy, Sara Billins, Principal
“The iday event run by Engage Education was incredibly useful. We have advertised for Maths and Physics posts on a number of occasions with no applicants suitable to appoint. The Engage Education staff were incredibly supportive in arranging and running the iday during which we were able to interview 8 applicants all of whom were very good, 5 were appointable and following a visit to the school and observing them teach we have taken on 3 staff and could have appointed a fourth if we had the capacity. We will definitely be attending the next iday if we have vacancies in key areas.”
Andy Daly, Swavesey Village College
“We came to iday last year and we were really impressed by the quality of the candidates we met on the day and actually employed 3 maths teachers and an English Teacher from iday and they have been very very successful. We have seen a rise in results already and we are not even at the end of the academic year.”
Cathy Spillane – Principal at the Thetford Academy
