Researchers Think in New WaysSchool, family, community partnership:

• share responsibility for students’ learning and development

• is a multidimensional Concept

• is an essential component of school and classroom organization

• require multilevel leadership

• must include a focus on increasing student learning and

development

• are about equity

• must continue to improve

School, family, and community partnerships is a better

terms than parental involvement to recognize that

parents, educators, and others in the community share

responsibility for students’ learning and development

• Students learn more when parents, educators and

others in community work together to guide and

support students learning and development( Epstein,

1987,2001)

• “Professional community” may mange their schools

differently from administrators who view schools as full

“learning communities”( Epstein,2001)

community involvements is part of organization, as

district leaders help coordinate and facilitate the smooth

operation of all school with district

The quality of district partnership programs was affected

by the leaders’ years of experience and time spent on

partnerships.

and community involvements that will help educators,

parents, and community partners work more

systemically, organizationally, and collaboratively to

support students. It will also help researchers improve

policy and practice.
