Joining together the panels inside a desk, credenza or other cabinetry makes all the difference. Jasper Desk uses tried and true methods, including cleat construction and mortise and tenon.

InSIGHTSThere are many ways to build furniture. The founders

of Jasper Desk decided on materials, methods and

craftsmanship that would produce furniture built

to look great and hold up under everyday use. As

true today as it was then, the Jasper Desk approach

to environmentally-responsible manufacturing has

a loyal following from customers who recognize

durability and problem-free reliability starts with

what goes inside. This is the reason why Jasper

Desk customers talk about “Jasper Desk Quality”:

– FSC-certified veneer and wood are specified for products from Jasper Desk, an FSC Chain of Custody certificate holder.

Products from Jasper Desk’s In Ten quickship program are available within ten working days from receipt of a credit approved order. Large quantities may be subject to additional lead time. Refer to the Jasper Desk price list for the specific models available through the In Ten program.

Of all the ways to build a drawer, wood construction with dovetailed corners is the method in most Jasper Desk series. Others are mitrefold construction with dowel joinery. These sturdy drawers ride on full extension “A” grade ball-bearing suspensions. Locking specifications by series appear in the Jasper Desk price list.

The unseen materials under the lustrous wood veneer surfaces receive an equal amount of care and consideration. Tops, panels and doors have balanced construction, with most tops having solid wood edges with mitered corners. Panels and doors also have balanced construction, with 3/32” wood banding.

Once everything inside is carefully constructed to specifications, each Jasper Desk model receives a multi-step catalyzed varnish finish. The finish ensures maximum durability, chemical resistance, color retention and clarity. Wood drawer interiors and exteriors are finished with sealer, sealer sand and catalyzed varnish.
