Background on Blacklight energy1. Water is broken up

into hydrogen and oxygen ions

2. Oxygen is released and a dissociator is added to split each hydrogen ion into a hydrogen atom. (1)

Page 3: IDesign: Blacklight Energy Danielle Marciniak Lojy Kamel Eric Ruzalski Kristine Cabrera Mike Andreuccetti John Dewinski Shannon Sebestin Preston Potas

Background cont.

3. A catalyst reacts with hydrogen to release energy. The energy from the hydrogen is transferred to the catalyst. The hydrogen shrinks (hydrino) and releases an ultra-violet light. (1)

Background cont.

4. Disproportion: The smaller hydrogen atom is further split to produce two smaller hydrogen atoms.

5. By-products: Purple plasma, heat, ultra-violet light, no harmful waste or emissions

Uses of Energy Produced

Energy given off in heat form Can build substantial pressure Turn turbine for an engine or generator

Page 6: IDesign: Blacklight Energy Danielle Marciniak Lojy Kamel Eric Ruzalski Kristine Cabrera Mike Andreuccetti John Dewinski Shannon Sebestin Preston Potas

Uses cont.

Hydrinos (smaller Hydrogen atoms) used with other elements and compounds: With inorganic elements: Conductive and magnetic

plastics With oxygenated matter: Batteries the size of a briefcase

to charge your car going highway speeds (55 mph) for 1000 miles. All on one charge and no gasoline.

With acid: Powerful explosives and rocket propellants. With metal compounds: Strong coatings that prevent

ships from rusting

Questions asked by the iDesign Judges Largely unproven idea - Why did you select it over more proven concepts related to wind, solar, biofuels, hydrogen, etc?

It was a unique idea

Nobody is very familiar

Nobody has heard much about it before

Heighten people's interest

Need more research to establish the significance of Blacklight Power as important part of a long-term energy strategy.

Designate every member needs to research more

Combine research

Give to one person

Judges’ Questions cont.

Discuss how Blacklight Power could make a significant contribution to creating a sustainable energy future.

If proven correct – create a “perpetual motion” energy source

Could power up many things

Good, steady, and unlimited energy source

Potentially, no harmful emissions or wastes

Uses water – both fresh and salt

House or commercial use

Page 17: IDesign: Blacklight Energy Danielle Marciniak Lojy Kamel Eric Ruzalski Kristine Cabrera Mike Andreuccetti John Dewinski Shannon Sebestin Preston Potas

Judges’ Questions cont...

Further explore benefits of Blacklight Power in relation to other alternative energy sources No emissions or harmful waste Only uses water New and innovative

Select a single idea from exhibit concept and develop it further- audience? how would you present it? what makes it exciting/educational? Our audience: Mainly adults and young adults Game room/ Glow-sticks: To get children's attention Lighting/ mood of overall room Educational video

Page 18: IDesign: Blacklight Energy Danielle Marciniak Lojy Kamel Eric Ruzalski Kristine Cabrera Mike Andreuccetti John Dewinski Shannon Sebestin Preston Potas

Judges’ Questions cont.

• Write a brief statement to support idea- main story line, how does story unfold, what will hold audience's interest, how does story end? • Waiting area – quick facts about Blacklight• Brief 10 minute movie - ideas behind Blacklight power• Exit theater • In a dark room with purple lighting• Walls with information• Game room to win items using information from exhibit• Gift shop• Exit
