you have to live with the consequences of a DWI

which are not glamorous regardless of what the media shows you.

It’s like releasing a bullet into a crowd of people. You don’t know who you will hurt or kill.

While you may not be killed, you could face severe injuries that could leave you mentally or physically handicapped for the rest of your life.

If you don’t hurt yourself, would you be able to live with the guilt of hurting someone else or even killing them?

YOU MUST KNOW….• The average person metabolizes alcohol at the rate of about

one drink per hour. Only time will sober a person up. Drinking strong coffee, exercising or taking a cold shower will not help.

• Impairment is not determined by the type of drink, but rather by the amount of alcohol ingested over a specific period of time.

• No amount of alcohol is “safe” to consume before driving.

Stories Speak Louder Than Statistics

On May 20, 2012 Takunda Mavima was driving home from a graduation party when the effects of alcohol caused him to lose control of him car and crash into an off-ramp killing the other two passengers in the car: Tim See, 17, and Krysta Howell, 15.

Although Takunda received the forgiveness of the victim’s families, he will have to live with the guilt of killing two people for the rest of his life.

So please remember never get behind the steering wheel after drinking; you could destroy the lives of so many, or it may just be the last thing you ever do.
