This November, IFAC will be hosting its virtual global summit, The Anticipatory Accountant: Global Trends Transforming Learning & Development. Coinciding with International Education Week, this four-day, multi-disciplinary panel series will run from 12pm-2pm Central European time each day on November 16-19, 2020.

We live in an ever-evolving world rife with complexity, ambiguity, and change. Now, more than ever, we are faced with the need to consider what the future holds for the accountancy profession and anticipate what shape and form accountancy learning and development must take to ensure that we have ‘future-ready’ professionals able to meet the needs of government and the marketplace.

This Virtual Summit will be led by world-renowned futurist Daniel Burrus (https://www.burrus.com/) and will explore our climate of constant change by focusing discussion on the three key global trends of: technology, environment, and society. Burrus will offer insight as to how we can move beyond the constant cycle of reacting to change to anticipating upcoming trends and transforming the profession accordingly.

Together with panels of expert speakers including Mervyn King, Noah Baalesanvu, Paul Druckman, and Safoora Biglari, the goal is to discuss the need for educating current and future professionals to steward the accountancy profession through the challenges of today while anticipating those of tomorrow.
